The Kovy deals can't happen anymore. So if Richards being 31 signed a 13 year deal for 80mil a year ago his cap number would just the average which is $6.1mil even if the last 4 years paid him a total $2.5mil. Now it's the amount of money he makes until he's 40 becomes the average. So instead of 80mil over 13 they do 77.5 mil over 9 years. Now all of a sudden his cap number is about $8.6mil. A little different.

Hawks trade Campbell and Hjalmarrson, sign Sopel and Richards.

Sharp-Richards-Hossa (foaming at the mouth)

(it also won't happen)

The Wolves were the farm team for Atlanta and the Cafucks feeder was the Manitoba Moose. I guess Winnipeg gets convenience and Vancouver gets fucked. Awesome.

I can agree with this.

This can't be good for Glendale:

You don't withhold stuff if it's good. So it probably shows the whole situation in a bad light.

I'll be in the 22nd and 23rd of June. Yeah, my company sends me to Calgary last month and Chicago this month... all AFTER hockey season! Dicks. I'll touch base with you as it gets closer and buy you a beer or something.

Goes for Chris too, wherever that dude ran off to.

that's crazy. please stick around so that we have a resident Jets fan, at least hopefully you guys become the Jets and not Moose.

Per Eklund: "And I will continue to tell you, no matter how crazy I know it sounds, don't count out the possibility of the Leafs acquiring Stamkos. It is one of those rumors that has a ton of "very, very inside people" buzzing still...I just got off the phone with one source in Tampa who said the possibility is "far more real than anyone is admitting.""

I heard there is a BS rumor that Crosby's career is finished. Gimme a break. He'll be back next season I expect.

But think about this hypothetically, and I stress the hypothetical part: what will that do to both Pittsburgh and the NHL itself. And would you consider him a HOFer?

I'm hearing it's going to be neither.

rumour around Winnipeg is its going to be:

Manitoba Polar Bears.. with powder blue as the jerseys colour.. not sure about that one

Crosby does not warrant hall of fame status yet. He is sure on the way path but if his career is over as you said a rumor stated it will go down as one of the biggest "what if" careers

That was shot down by a few people. We'll see. I see Jets, Moose or Falcons. I'm hoping Jets or Falcons. Moose is too minor league. While I'm a huge supporter of the Jets name I saw someone say "Preserve the history of our franchise and keept Jets." What history is that? Two playoff series victories? Again I would love for them to be the Jets but lets not get crazy.

I agree. He's on his way but if his career were to end I don't see him getting in.

As for Pitt. they'd be alright. It would be a huge blow but they've got a good team without him. Not as good obviously but still pretty good and would have $9mil to spend. The NHL in terms of marketing would take a hit. I still think the league as a whole would be great, as I think many people in here would too, but the NHL feels the need for a player like that to market and have a "rivalry" between him and Ovie. So that's where it would hurt the NHL.

That said I don't believe that rumor at all because it was reported the other day he was cleared for workouts.
