So far I love the Ducks announcers and Florida's has some energy as well.

Phoenix announcers are the WORST

Game tonight was horrific. Matt Carle, Braydon Coburn, and Andreas Lilja should be ashamed of themselves. You can't win NHL games when you have 18 giveaways.

Yeah it's looking that way because Weber is going to be the one they go after and it may leave Suter out. But there was some talk going on before this that we wouldn't be able to sign any of them so I'll be very happy to have 2 of the 3.

That's funny because there are still a minority of people who think that Nashville is complete shit because they're in the south and hockey doesn't belong there. So anytime Nashville signs a player long term, or has a run to the playoffs, they quickly dismiss it.

Finally, the Islanders seemed to have turned the corner with the direction of their franchise. Mike Millbury should never sniff another GM position for as long as he lives. What an embarrassment he turned the Isles into.

For sure. You take what you can get in the salary cap world sometimes, and Nashville's done a good job of locking up two very core players. I'm still of the opinion that Weber is the best all-around defenseman in the game. And Rinne... well, last night says it all.

Sabres have really been shitting the bed recently. Interesting to see Enroth is starting tonight after he came in and almost saved the Sabres on Wednesday. I'm glad to see a little bit of competition brewing between Enroth and Miller but some people are getting a bit out of hand by saying there is a full-on goalie controversy going on right now. Maybe in a few weeks if Miller keeps sucking...

I'm not saying they were Emery's fault. Clearly you ignored the part where I blamed Leddy, Keith, and said the defense needs work.

But he hasn't been good tonight. He's been kicking big rebounds into the middle of the ice all night and his side-to-side movement doesn't look very strong.

God, just stop talking.

Say what you will, but we know what this team is capable of. The 2009-10 team blew good teams out routinely. This team is capable of that. Doesn't it bother you that they've blown 2-goal leads in consecutive games?

Their effort tonight was much better than last night, that's for sure. They played pretty well but the defense is definitely a lot weaker without #2. Leddy got Stamkos'd pretty bad for that 3rd Lightning goal and blowing 3rd period leads was something they were pretty damn good at last year.

But I think it's pretty clear that the team is lacking a top-6 winger. Carcillo needs to move back up to the 2nd line so that the offense is a bit more balanced. Toews is carrying a whole lot of dead weight out there in 25 and 15.

Good God, just stop. You're making all Hawks fans look bad.

The Stanley Cup season is over. Get over it. Stop referencing it. If you must though, clearly you either jumped on the bandwagon or don't remember how that season started.

The team started clicking, really, in December. And it was essentially the exact same team as the year previous, so everyone knew each other.

This year's team is bonding quickly, but every season starts with some growing pains, especially when half the team is new. Gotta look for the positive signs and this team has PLENTY. They're giving up garbage goals around the net, and fluke turnovers. The garbage goals are an easy fix, and we'll be seeing less of those as the season progresses.

All other signs are pointing that the sky is the limit for this team. It's hard to not be excited if you have a clue.

Give me a break. The 09-10 team is still a good point of reference. The core is the same, you have the same coaching staff, and the team plays pretty much the same style.

The team is off to a phenomenal start and I'm definitely excited. That said, I still think there are some things lingering from last year that will hopefully get worked out over time.

But c'mon, fluke turnovers? It's called being careless with the puck. It's not a fluke. I thought they did a good job of limiting the turnovers last night but there was definitely some botched coverage on D.

Their record is great at this point, but there is clearly room for improvement.

The 09-10 team didn't go on a tear until their third game in November when they went on an 8 game win streak going into the Circus trip.

October is the worst month to judge a team on. You're trying to figure out your chemistry, trying to get a good idea of lines, and just trying to get the wheels turning. Of course this team needs a lot of improvement, but if this were last years team, you could easily take 4 or 5 of our eight wins and make them losses. This team is finding ways to win while trying to figure out who they are, and they are going to go off. They always do. They are a great team and everything that is going wrong with them is not a matter of not having talent, it's a matter of developing chemistry. So shut up, and just enjoy these wins in while they are coming in.

and if you want to improve the defense, seperate Seabrook and Hjalmarrson for christ's sake.

4-8 should really be paired together. I think 2-8 are what really needs to be separated more so than 4-7, though.

yeah. 4-7 are the best pairing. Still if you go 2-7 4-8 you have a nice top 4

I think the D pairings have been working out as of late, but I do not think they work so well when Keith is out and Seabrook and Hjalmarsson have to play top pair minutes. Montador, Lepisto, and O'Donnell have been significantly better than guys like Cullimore, Boynton, and Hendry, though.

ab. so. lut. ley. not.

It makes 0 sense having Leddy and Keith together, and I will keep saying it until they are broken up

Leddy and Keith are the EXACT SAME player. You need to pair the players like that, that love to pinch in on offense and carry the puck with a stay-at-home type aka Seabrook or Hammer. D-pairings should be 2 and 7, 4 and 8, 5 and 6/20.

So when will Lou get pulled tomorrow or is Van not even gonna bother starting him?

I just think they are pairing Leddy with Keith and Hammer with Seabrook so each of the younger guys is playing with a veteran. Leddy is handling himself well but I don't really like the thought of 4 with 8. Too many mistakes.

You can say what you want, but when the team had the 8-game winning streak last year, Leddy and Keith were paired together. For the start of this season, Leddy and Keith were paired together and we were 7-2-2.

and they aren't even our best pairing....

so you mean to tell me 2-8 4-7 is better than 2-7 4-8?

Not a chance in hell

I don't know because we haven't seen it. 2-7 would always be one of the best 1st pairs in the league. But I haven't seen enough of 4-8 to know. Obviously it looks good on paper. Leddy is the puck mover and Hammer stay-at-home, but they are both prone to youthful mistakes so that's why I think Q is going with Leddy/Keith, Seabrook/Hjalmarsson.

Rick Nash is an amazing human being. How anyone could not ask out of that organization is either as good as Mother Teresa or heavily into drugs.

Believe me, CBJ fans want nothing more than to be rid of Mason. The guy had a great rookie year and has never lived up to that again. The first person to go needs to be GM Scott Howson though...
