YMDT Appreciation Thread
I love how this song has 'grown up'. If you listen to some of the newer versions (LT13, or anything from last year) it has turned into a beast. This thread is for all the people who like the song. If you don't like it, please don't rain on our parade.

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
I dig it, but I'd be happy to only see it once or twice this summer.

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
Love it. When listening to Stand Up you just had to figure out that this song would grow the most.

I like it, but I would don't like seeing it at every show I go to. I'd like to see it grab some bench for a year or two

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
This was my favorite song from Stand up when it came out... support this thread. As much as I dig it, though, it doesn't need to be played every night. In that case- no song needs to be played every night.

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
I was Dave-dancing like crazy in my kitchen yesterday while listening to LT15 version. So much I was embarrassed for me.

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
this song needs to die trying, i hate this so will all of my heart. If I had a YMDT, #40> Last Stop>Halloween encore it would kill the encore for me. I know that sounds dumb but I hate it that much.

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
YMDT has been great since LT13. But yea, can't argue with those saying it's overplayed, because it is. But i'm not going to complain about hearing it.
|
Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
it is definitely overplayed, but that's a different story altogether. I think it's safe to say that most people like (or liked) cornbread until it was overplayed. I totally agree that I don't want to see it every night, but as someone mentioned earlier, no song should be played every night

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
It is overplayed but the jam is awesome.
|
Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
I support this thread. Love YMDT, wouldn't mind if it became a little more rare, but it always gets me dancing my ass off and I will always enjoy hearing it.

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
I don't seem to mind it as much as most, but it is definitely overplayed.

Hate this song, hate stand up & everything on it. Live or studio

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
i love all the hatred and bashing in the 'appreciation' thread. Way to keep classy fellow ants!

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
i like it a lot

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
6/13/09 and 8/12/09 are probably the 2 best versions I've heard. Mainly because the outros are really well done. I don't entirely hate this song. Overplayed? Yes, but I'd much rather listen to this jam for 8 minutes than Smooth Rider, Angel, Everyday, and a host of other shitty songs. It's one of the best of SU/ED if not the best.

6/13/09 is what I always thought this song could be, so I hope it only gets better. |
Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
I would appreciate this song not being played as often as it is.

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
It was actually a pretty good opener Deer Creek N2 last year. Was bummed when it started and by the end I was loving it. Once a hater but think it would be a great song to open 4 or 5 shows a summer along with 4 or 5 other spots and keep it at that.

Re: YMDT Appreciation Thread
I liked it in 09 only. Actually i liked it alot.
