Love hearing some feedback from the Tuscaloosa show. My favorite DMB experience to date. Met Dave before the show, front and center rail, stick, and a setlist.

Could someone explain to a relatively new Ant (though long-time casual fan) what happened with Danny Barnes and his three day stint with DMB at the Gorge. The podcast this week made it seem like something went down with the setlists that weekend that soured the fans. Thanks!

Sure... in order to promote Danny Barnes new album that came out that year, DMB & Danny played Danny's songs Road and Caveman 3 straight nights. Needles to say fans were not happy to hear the same non-DMB songs over and over and over again.

My guess is also that with the voice trouble Dave had been having, rough vocals at Outside Lands and then they cancelled a show, getting to take a midset rest each night allowed them to not cancel the Gorge. It was rough, but by the 3rd night there were a ton of peopel singing along with Road. Danny took alot of heat, which was too bad because hes a great musician and was probably not the person making the decision to showcase his songs mid-DMB set at the gorge.

Yeah Danny will always get a bad rap for that even though it wasnt his call. He did guest on Spacebread and Warehouse at Deer Creek in 2010 and they were all pretty decent.

And whenever you see 'roooooooooooooaaaaaad...by the side of the roooooooooooaaaaaaad' posted you'll know they are referring to Gorge 2009.

Curious about the "soundcheck jam" that was referenced...anyone got a link to that? I think Jake referenced it as being from LT 33?
