I wonder if Butch would even want to go back on the road full time? If tomorrow goes well for him and the band I could see him being a frequent guest next summer but a full time touring member seems unlikely. I'm glad he's back for tomorrow. Can't wait for the stream!

I'd be super pumped about this if it meant two things .

1) Tim plays acoustic for at least some songs
2) Rashawn plays with the trumpet mute on the entire show

Otherwise I fear that it's just may add to the wall of noise .

No one is going to hear butch if rashawn is squealing on top and Tim is doubling everything Dave plays .

They've got to get the balance of instruments right . With DMB it's always been all about the layers ... Music , lyrics .

Hopefully they find a nice groove in rehearsals.

Maybe BT can even get in on the action.

Sorry if I'm so negative , I'm a rockets fan and we didn't get melo lol .

I still feel like I need more evidence that Butch is playing. All I've seen is Jeff's Instagram photo, where somebody is playing an electric piano in the background. I've zoomed in and can't tell if it's Butch. Plus, Butch used to play more pianos than this. Honestly feel I need more evidence.

I'm not opposed to Butch being back, but I have no interest in the 2007 version of Butch.

Tim kind of took over Butch's 07 roll once he came on where he had to compensate for what Dave couldn't play anymore. I just hated the organ mirroring Dave's riffs. I'm hoping Tim frees up Butch to have a more interesting roll.

I like Butch guesting. They had a great sound while they had him, but sometimes he was too much... I like him back for the CVille show though

Agree with this. If he does end up touring (which I'm truthfully not counting on...that stage is incredibly crowded already), hopefully it's more early 2000's style Butch. Butch was unbearable his last few years.

Tim is going to have to really scale back is playing with butch back. It’ll be too muddy sounding if he continues his typical playing. I don’t think he will though because the way he has been playing is to try to fill up the sound that was lost when Butch left.

I love that the potential of Butch's return is growing...RR overdoes it, where, I feel, Butch lays back and jazzes (?) it up a bit. Maybe time to revisit Linus and Lucy during Seek Up? But I agree, early Butch = better Butch.
