Obviously we're only hearing Erskine's side of the story, so we may not see the whole picture, but it's a bit troubling to me that it says Hunter hasn't even talked to him since he was scratched. My favorite coaches were the ones that kept open lines of communication, whether the situation was good or bad. Those are the ones that seem to get the most out of their players.

Barring a major turnaround, I don't see Hunter having a very long tenure with Washington.

It is pretty obvious that Hunter is way over his head at this point. But you could tell how he reacted to AO's goal last night that he must have felt he did his job.

I don't know why Hunter was ever named coach. Hell, he should have been banned from the league for what he did to Turgeon in the 1993 playoffs.

He's been playing a decent amount with some injuries to Callahan, del zotto, and fedotenko. He hasn't been pretty but it looks like he's trying hard not to totally screw up and overall he hasn't.

Apparently he was saying there's probably five or six guys who wouldn't mind going with him tonight and he said wouldn't say no. :lol

He won't be getting dressed in the next two weeks or so I'm sure. But he seems to be communicating well with his current line (rupp, fedotenko). They've been pretty vocal on the bench post-shift from what I've caught on tv so the guys seem to like him, but there just won't be minutes for him. We already have too many forwards who can't score out there on a nightly basis (Boyle, Prust, Bickel, fedotenko, Dubinsky...)
