No one is arguing against Malkin's ability to put up more points than Toews. Toews does literally everything else better though. He's a stronger skater, does the dirty work in the corners, plays on the top PK unit, is a Selke nominee and will be again this year, dominates face offs, and is the definition of a captain.

The overwhelming majority of people around the league seem to say that Toews is the clear #2 overall player (behind Crosby) right now. You're in the minority.

Malkin seems to be the clear cut #3, so I'm not trying to take anything away from the guy, he's a stud, but Crosby and Toews are a clear 1 and 2, IMO.

There are things about toews’s game that are superlative. However, that doesn’t qualify you as one of the best players in the world. The best players in the world have the ability to carry their team on their shoulders the way Evgeni Malkin has been doing every night this season.

Dude, just stop. Beside the fact that Kane hasn't been having a great season, and that he wasn't on the same line as Toews for the entire start of the season, and that Hossa has never played on the same line as Toews for any prolonged period of time....

Abso-fucking-lutely this season. He's leading the team in almost ever category that counts. Games like the comeback against the Ducks in the 3rd peoriod where he put up 5 points, etc. He's single handedly won us more games than I can even count.
