Love that barbs was the only one right about game 7 from the Penns/Caps fan base. (Sorry that you were)
|
Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)
That was uh, well.....predictable.
|
Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)
Holy shit!!! I don't know what else to say, Caps. To quote the great Mike Lange, the turkey was on the table. But you left the door unlocked and the Pens came in like the Bumpus hounds and stole it right off. Sorry, Barbs and Brohan.
No matter what happens next, I love this team! They just know how to win every which way. |
Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)
Yeesh, that did not look offsides.
might help to catch a replay that isn't from 400' away too though. |
Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)
Welp, I stand corrected. Offsides by about half an inch.
|
Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)
Caps are just so fun.

Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)
does anyone know the purpose of having the strobe lights flash that one time every here and there? it happens every single game at every arena, even in the AHL, and i don't get the point of it. i've asked several people who somehow never noticed it until i pointed it out. i don't understand how you can not notice a bright white flash every 20 seconds. it has nothing to do with whats going on in the game. it just happened twice as the oilers made a pass through the neutral zone. not like it was an important play in the game.

Didn't backread yet. Really stunned at the outcome.
I just saw Mike Milbury say that from Trotz perspective he shouldn't have expected the game to be won on the back of Ovechkin, but instead on the back of guys like oshie and Backstrom........ what?!? |

Awesome seats! Hoping for OT!

Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)
Ducks were playing nickelback with a minute left. Didn't deserve the win for that alone.
|
Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)
Damn. It was easier on the nerves when the oilers just missed the playoffs.
|
Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)
Sorry Barbs, sincerely - was hoping you all could put away the Pens.
Sorry Swordo, was hoping you could smack down the damn Ducks. Now I just hope for an Ottawa vs Anaheim SCF complete with a Sens sweep. Oh - sorry to you as well Aero, was hoping your Rags could force a game 7 last night. |

This is the worst conference final combination possible.
|
Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)
Also - in the most Caps moment possible - how the fuck do you end up ICING THE PUCK with 2:45 left in the game while you're freaking pulling your own goalie?! How do you do that? I don't remember who it was, but dude just fired a slapper from 15 feet behind the center line.
WTF? Carry it one more stride. |

I know you are used to it Barbs but sorry for the loss.
Sorry for the loss , too, to you Rag$ fans, though clearly us Isle fans were rejoicing through text messages shortly after. |

They are for the official sports photographers at the arena. Most sporting arenas have them. (mounted flashes) The photographers have their own "channels" that link to their cameras and flash when they specifically take a photo. This has been done for 30+ years- hockey, basketball, etc. |
Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)
Raise your hand if your surprised the Caps blew it.

The Caps owed us a win last night and I feel robbed. I've been through enough of this and quite frankly I deserved better. So did the other fans whether they're the pessimistic ones like me or the optimistic ones like Climb. Either way, the Caps owed their fanbase a win last night. Fuck you, Caps. You are shit and do not deserve my loyalty. Side note, the conversation on Facebook this morning involves Caps fans screaming at each other about whether or not it's ok to have my attitude about this team or not. Not interested in that conversation at all. Thanks for all the sorrys, it is appreciated. Doesn't relieve the pain, but I do appreciate that everyone wanted them to get this done for me. You guys are the best and while I'm pretty much all set on hockey for the next five months, be comforted that I'll be here next year too waiting for the collapse. What terrible conference final match ups. It's a dreary day for the hockey world. |
