Claude Giroux is decent. I never said he wasn't. I just asked Crash what he thought. Maybe you should actually start reading things instead of insinuating. I mean aren't you supposed to be a journalist?

Claude Giroux isn't what the Flyers need though.

When you write something like this, you're saying a player isn't good. Don't play dumb, Brohan.

You're insinuating a lot from a simple question, and you're completely wrong.

If you can read I called Dustin Brown bad and I asked Crash (who has yet to respond) if CG is good

And this is all we need to know.

Re: The NHL Thread (where home field advantage matters!)

Centers that are better than CG:

Crosby
Malkin
Backstrom
McDavid
Bergeron
Stamkos
Toews
Scheifelle
MacKinnon
Jamie Benn
Seguin
Getz
Kessler
Kopitar
Johansen

There's 15, and I'm probably missing a couple. CG isn't a top 15 center

You seem to equate good with being great. No one is doing that. Claude Giroux is a good player. He's just not a great player.

English is tough, I know.

So below average is considered 'good' now?

Re: The NHL Thread (where home field advantage matters!)

The fact you're calling Claude Giroux "below average" is just wrong.

There are 120 centers eligible for active lineups. Giroux is still a top 20 center in the league. That's the definition of good. I don't know why I'm wasting my time with this.

You went from calling him not good to decent to now below average. What the hell is going on with you.

When I actually started looking around the League I realized how bad he actually is

He would be a 2nd or 3rd line center on most teams not named Flyers.

What good has come from CG's captaincy?

Claude Giroux is at least in the top 250 players in the league.

He plays better when he has home field, if anything.

Very true. He definitely excels when they have home field advantage.

If Giroux had Kessel on his line we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

This, he is a good player, well above average but I don't think anyone who follows hockey would ever consider him great or elite.

Exactly. He's the third best forward on the team now. Still a good player.

hey man, can we not say "Stanley Cup" and "Caps" in the same sentence until it's absolutely necessary? i got a little nauseous reading your post.

like i said, he's barely a 2nd line center

4 or 5 years ago he was good. not doubt about that. very good at times

but the last 2 seasons have been average or worse. mainly worse. he hasn't been good since 13-14

do you think 57 points and a -15 is good for a 1st line center? i don't, but then again i've been watching Crosby and Malkin for a decade so maybe my standards are higher

and the whole "if he had better linemates" argument is a cop out.

I have no problem with this in a vacuum, but the DoPS is so inconsistent it's amazing. I don't understand it.

I'm fine with this if they start making this stuff suspendable, but in the past - it hasn't been.

Marchand is a repeat offender though.
