Also, we are seeing a pretty high number of Americans getting drafted high. That's cool too.

But failing to medal at the last two WJCs? Yeah, I think there definitely needs to be some reevaluation of upper echelon development, both from a coach and player perspective.

Its tough though these kids have been playing all over the country either in college or juniors and then they are expected to have chemistry and bring home a gold within 3 weeks of playing together. I know its no excuse cause all other countries are in the same boat but it is a tall order. Side note: Jack Eichel

Yeah maybe think about reevaluating but there are still young guys coming up. Eichel and Larkin looked great to name a few.

On a different note, how gimmicky is HNIC now? Gotta talk about the app, and the touch screen and hey look at all these bright lights. Sadly it's our media world over all now but ugh.

Comeback Kings. Couldn't believe it when I checked the score and it was 6-3 with 2 something minutes left.

Last two years have been tough, considering that they played Russia twice after NYE game against Canada.

It was so frustrating to watch. Kings definitely didn't quit. Much respect. It feels good to be atop the central though.

Rangers kept it going cruising 6-1 over the Sabers last night! Power play has it together now!

It gets real over the next five games though.

@Ducks
@Kings
@Sharks

Then there is finally a game against the ICElanders before facing the Briuns in Boston!

Bruins 0 SOG the first 17 min of the first period and only 1 the first 16 min of the third period. Ugly times for the bruins

Regular season success gets the Caps so hard they've actually hung a banner at their practice facility that says "2015 Winter Classic Champs".

Meanwhile the team on the ice continues to be on a nice roll. Just won again. They're now 10-2-3 in their last 15 and just jumped back ahead of the Rangers.

We still have games at hand over everyone ahead of us. Not too worried about it.

oh my god thank you caps for giving the rest of the NHL hope that they will never ever falter into Caps or Leafs territory.

Teuvo clearly still has plenty of room to grow/learn. Not a good game for him. Hopefully just first game jitters and he starts to look better from this point forward.

Sick pass from DK to Sharpie for that OT winner. Matty will like that slap pass from the point. Great vision. That's another reason why I love #2 back there for the Hawks.

Way to blow our chance to get to tip of eastern conference by having maybe worst game of season vs oilers,

Can't believe I got up early to watch the rest of this debacle.
