Blues win 3-1

HallowBillies7 04-23-2014 09:02 AM

Some Montreal fans (not on here) already saying how they're going to sweep the Bruins lol. I hope whoever comes out between Det/Bos destroys them. Are there even any Habs fans here? I don't think I've ever noticed one.

Haven't seen one. I do think Bruins/Habs goes 6-7.

He's done a good job with this team, and they have been great down the stretch so I have to give them props. But yeah I don't like them. Arrogant fans doesn't help.

I hate them, but maybe I'm bias lol. But seriously, their home jerseys with the blue stripe that goes under the number just looks weird to me.

yea the hawks run away with it...but i actually like the black ones more than the red....but all 3 are perfect, really

the bruins are alright i guess

i'd have to say my 2nd favorite are the minnesota wild home sweaters

forest green and khaki is so tight

Habs have the best shot of any team to beat the Bruins in the East and the melts that would occur if they did would be classic.

Habs sweaters are probably my least favorite of the Original Six.

I really dig (no order):
Toronto
Chicago
Boston
Minny's new green ones
Dallas's new green ones (yes, I do like the color)
Classic Buffalo
Avs 3rd

barbogast 04-23-2014 09:34 AM

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Montreal wears a great sweater, either the red or the white. I fucking hate the team though. As has been said, the arrogant fans breed a lot of that.

Top 5 NHL sweaters:

Chicago Blackhawks road
Boston Bruins home
Montreal Canadiens road
Colorado Avalanche road
San Jose Sharks home

Honorables to the St Louis Blues, Philadelphia Flyers and the Tampa Bay Lightning (yes really, that new lighter blue with the simplified logo is sexy)

I love all the original 6 sweaters. They don't need to change anything and most of them don't feel the need to. Maybe have a third they wear every now and then but that's it. Every other franchise seems to switch up their look every few years. Just keep it simple.

So in hockey news, Zetterberg practicing hard today from what the beat writers are saying. Now listed as day to day. Here's hoping for Thursday. If not, I hope they can win to make it 2-2 and he's back this weekend.

So much focus on Giroux not showing up, but I personally think in Game 2 and 3 he has played fairly well. He isn't making any huge mistakes, he is just being smothered by the Rangers. If they are going to focus so hard on G the rest of the Flyers need to show up and take advantage of that

turning the puck over
passing up scoring opportunities
losing puck battles
just a general passiveness

yea, he now has a 7 game goalless drought in the playoffs dating back to the boston series

to compare, mario lemiuex's longest playoff drought was 6 games, which happened twice...and the pens didn't do so well when that happened

Not gonna get by the Bruins/Red Wings and maybe not even Flyers/Rangers with Sid playing this way, especially when the inevitable Fleury melt happens

rangers are a good matchup for the pens, so i'd give them nod there, but it's still not a given

wings, habs, bruins, flyers are all AWFUL matchups for the pens, and frankly all those teams are playing better right now

I don't remember, but that's how it goes with a lot of things in this thread :lol

I don't remember where OMGCG came from, or our obsession with all things Rico Fata. But they have become eternal parts of the Ants NHL thread.

I imagine it's kinda confusing for new initiates. Glad you asked.

We've really toned down the OMGCG talk lately. It was pretty out of control for a while there. :lol

I remember the OMGCG days. Didn't come in here much then. Was butthurt everyone gave the Caps such a hard time. DGAF now plus that other Caps fan isn't really here anymore

I vaguely recall the Rico Fata stuff but I was an actual noob then

All you need to remember is that it's widely agreed upon that the Fata-OMGCG-Daigle line (otherwise known as FOD) would be the greatest hockey line in the history of the sport.

Imagine Kariya with Yashin back in the day. Hell or Pronger on the blueline. I would like to thank them for not taking Pronger as that made Shanny go to Hartford, hate it, and be traded to Detroit.

Where's Sarah? Can we get a Fata or some other hockey type emoji? I think we deserve one.

He's a good player, but he's not going to be a household name for years to come. I think you guys are giving him way too much credit for just having a solid season last year.

There's probably at least 150-200 other players in the league that I would consider to be better than Giroux.

From the 10/11 thread. Bored while waiting for oil change. Searches more annoying on phone

I THINK it came from this game:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7vHJBx1zOs

I was freaking out every time he scored, and was just posting 19! 19! 19! 19! 19! every single time. I'm almost positive it was that game.

19! 19! 19! 19! 19! 19! 19! is going to be more difficult/impossible to find. Search doesn't pull up just numbers and characters.
