Even when guys like Sundqvist have gotten their brains scrambled by Wilson, their public comments are always sheepish shit like “I hope it wasn’t intentional” or “Hopefully he’ll learn his lesson”. Like are all of you just too scared/stupid to know you have the power to change this yourselves? If you’re not constantly running opponents (which 99% of the league isn’t doing) you don’t have to worry about ever having to deal with punishments for this shit. I don’t get it.

You may be surprised given some of our political debates but in this case I could not agree more, well stated.

What a fuck up.

Agreed, given his history. That seems appropriate though to be honest I would have preferred a 3 or 4 game suspension so he misses a playoff game or two - not sure how many games the Caps have left off the top of my head.

McJesus hits the 100pt mark in his 53rd game of the season . He has 4 pts tonight through 2 periods. It's a damn shame there are no fans there to blow the roof off the arena.

Pretty unbelievable that Lemieux got to 100 in 38 games.....twice!

I'm a Gretzky stan but Lemieux was so special. The 87 Canada Cup with them together was beautiful.

Connor has been absolutely amazing.

Are the Leafs going to break my heart again this year?

Says something that there was basically no question before the game that he was going to do it. Incredible.

Yeah, he is just plain amazing, a cut above the rest for his age - by a long shot. He may not have the hardware that REALY counts (aka the Cup) but wow is he astounding to watch. Congrats to him.

I was really hoping that the Canucks would have scored whilst he was in the penalty box in the 3rd. It would have guaranteed a 5th point. :lol

On the other hand, they’re guaranteed a Canadian team in the final four. There’s almost no chance they’ll make it past that point, though.

Respectfully, based on what? None of these teams have played each other all season - completely impossible to make such a prediction.

I definitely don't think that there's "almost no chance," but I think that entire division is somewhat inflated given the fact that overall, it's appears to be a pretty weak division. Toronto still had a meh blue line and questionable goaltending, despite being really solid up front. Edmonton is an inherently flawed team when you look at them 1-23.

But those above are correct in that, we can make any assumptions we want, but we have no idea until they face someone outside of these divsions (and matchups could make a huge difference there too - Edmonton vs. the Islanders is a big difference than Toronto vs. Colorado).

Yeah, it's going to depend on the actual matchup. All team Canada has to do is win one series. They definitely have better odds than "almost no chance" as it stands right now.

To clarify - those at the top of that division are inflated (IMO) - it almost sounds like I'm saying the division is inflated because it's weak - I think Toronto is inflated because the division is...underwhelming to me. That doesn't mean Toronto (or Edmonton, for that matter) can't come out of that division and win a single series to make the finals.

Are we so sure they are going to let players move across the border?

There is a slight possibility that there is no Stanley Cup awarded this year if Canadian teams can't cross the border. There is a possibility that a Canadian teams' home games in the finals are played in say Buffalo or San Jose as their home base.

Right now there's a lot of rumors that the canadian team will be moving to the US to play their "home" games after the first two rounds. They don't have fans in their arenas as it is, so flying the Leafs to, say, Phoenix, as has been rumored, currently seems like the most likely scenario.

Another Flyers season ends in disappointment. At least they won their last game, but man, this year started off so well and then just fell right off the table. I have no idea what needs to be done this offseason. But one things is certain, certain players like Voracek, van Riemsdyk and even Gostisbehere need to go.
