I was unpacking an old box today and found a Caps clapper and the cup from an early 90s playoff series with the Islanders.

Couldn't believe it. That was as close as you can get.

That 5th goal by Dallas was so crazy, too. What the hell is Dubnyk thinking?

This offseason will be huge for the Flyers. A lot of waste to be cut from this team. Hopefully some of our young players can come up next year and have an impact like Ghost bear did

Have I mentioned how annoying it is that all of the Panthers/Islanders series and all of the Preds/Ducks series have been unavailable on the nbc app.

Islanders because they are never on nbc or nbcsports and so it gets blacked out. I just want to be able to watch ONE game of that series.

Finally have time to give my two cents

I'm proud of this team and the effort. This wasn't a playoff team at the start the season and probably not going in. They need another scorer though. They have nothing on the second and third lines. But this team is ahead of the schedule and in Hextall We Trust.

Who the Sharks gonna play next round?

Guessing the Ducks will win on the road tomorrow against the Preds and go straight into a round 2 series with the Sharks.

Hate the Ducks. I'd love to see the Sharks take them down.

I really had hopes the Preds were gonna take down the Ducks.

Yeah, I would love to see SJ beat up on the Ducks too. I hoped that Nashville would knock them out when they took a quick 2-0 series lead nut the Ducks have most likely shook that off.

On another note, it is relatively annoying that I have to watch some commercial on NHL.com just to see video replays. I did pay them over a hundred buck before the season started and now I still have to see a damn commercial every time I want to watch a goal, save, hit, etc, etc.

i wish they'd play something during the regular season during commercials instead of the stupid static screen.

Just wanted to say again how happy I am they got it done today

Perhaps it's sad I take so much joy in a round one win

But today felt great

Never fucking easy. Jt baby with under a minute ties it up after Leddy (thanks hawks) makes a 200ft rush. Brooklyn erupted when he scored.

Off to OT.

Enjoy it! They got it done with a well earned win. Now the real work begins for both of our teams.

And the Isles tied it up with the goalie pulled! Crazy games today.

It's not sad at all. Winning any playoff series is always an amazing feeling. Part of what makes the Stanley Cup Playoffs so fucking great.

This is why it's the best playoff system in sports. Absolute grind for four rounds.

Playoff OT is just the best. Especially when a series is on the line

I wanna see that building explode. I had NYI in 6 in my bracket anyway. Go Isles

Re: The NHL Thread

Man, Quine had the best scoring chance there in the first OT. Imagine the storyline there if he scored. Back to back ot game winners to send the islanders to the next round. They'd erect a statue tomorrow in his honor.

Special play by a special player. Can't believe we are moving on. Monkey off the back. Going back to Florida but to Tampa.

Want to hug someone but everyone in the house asleep.

Congrats Sal! First playoff win since 1993. I can't even imagine how good that must feel after that long.

I do feel for Florida and their fans. Young team though. This should only be the start.

Re: The NHL Thread

That was awesome by Tavares. Looking forward to the Islanders series, dads a big Islanders fan and grew up in the early 80's during their run. Happy he got to see them win a series for the first time in 20+ years.

Cooper said Stralman could be back for game 1 which would be a big boost for the defense. I'm hoping Drouin continues to play well and keep the offense afloat without Stamkos. Obviously Kucherov and Johnson have played great too but Drouin really added something against Detroit, especially on the PP. As long as Bishop does his thing I think Tampa should win in 6.

Tavares has been so good lately. My bracket is absolute shit at this point, I think the Stars are the only correct pick I've made :lol
