I don't get ESPN's relationship with the NHL. They have a big $ contract with the NHL and bury the coverage on the ESPN home page that you have to scroll all the way to the right to even find games. Sometimes "NHL" can't be found in the header. And if you click "Top Events" on the top left corner of ESPN.COM, about 10 sports are shown including La Liga and Carabao Cup, but I don't see anything for the NHL. And the NHL and ESPN are now actually in business together. Granted, it's mostly on ESPN Plus, but when UFC has a show that is on ESPN Plus, they plug the hell out of it. Probably more money involved with UFC but there's just no visible coverage on the main page. Strange.

Sometimes it’s more about burying your competitors.

Really nice win for the Rangers tonight after they had a predictably slow start. Only 2 shots in the first period but wound up outshooting Boston tonight. Both goalies were amazing though.

Brown, Kopitar & Doughty are the first trio in the NHL to play all 1,000 games with one another.

Pretty much Lightning play 101. Come out the gate like total shit, no shots, and then just decide sometime in the 2nd or 3rd to score like 3 goals in 5 minutes.

Then again, that's been their M.O. for years now, especially in the regular season, and it's gotten them 2 Cups. So whatever :lol

Wish I could say the same about the Rangers. Their slow starts bit them tonight. Officiating was also bad and I rarely complain about that. Not sure the last time I have seen the Rangers beat the Wings but if feels like they never do. Played sloppy for 40 minutes. Upsetting but at least we got a point. Honestly, better teams would have torn the Rangers apart tonight.

Reporters need to leave Ovi alone. He has come out and said he “hopes for peace” and “please no more war.” Asking him to say anything more than that is unfair and puts him in an impossible position. This is not his fault and they shouldn’t be asking him to speak out anymore. Doing so will either alienate him here in the states or put his family in Russia at risk. Let the man play hockey and leave him out of this.

colorado just had a game like that against winnipeg. gave up 3 in the first period and looked like it was going to be an ugly night. avs got 3 in the 2nd and 3 more in the 3rd, with landeskog getting a hat trick, to win 6-3. such an avalanche type game. play like shit in the first (and sometimes second) and then in intermission remember they're the best team in the league, and come out guns blazing.

ABC starts off it's hockey coverage with...a fighting montage. What a bunch of idiots. You've got the game on to an audience that probably doesn't watch hockey much and usually that is because of fighting. Guess they wanted to keep the people watching the UFC countdown show...

Not that I'm watching anyway but kind of interesting that the Bruins broadcast isn't traveling, they ran into an issue when the fire alarm went off in the building in Boston they were broadcasting the game in Seattle from

They did this with Caps/Rangers the other night too. 80% of the pregame was last years fight and how “it’s a part of the culture”
