It points to a bigger problem of sports commentators not being able to say anything on the edge. It effects the sports I do love, golf coverage now is terrible, the Red Sox broadcast used to be amazing with Remy and Orsillo saying things the current cast never could now if the team was worth watching in the first place, etc.

You like to point to the hardcore hockey talk side of Milbury, many people I've listened to comment on it who are passionate about hockey say he was one of the very few remaining hockey commentators who will say anything even slightly negative.

Doubling down on mysogynistic comments is such a cool thing to do. So edgy! I'm glad you look up to Milbury. Such a hero to have.

Avs fans are big mad about that Lindell goal being allowed but, y'know, don't put yourself in that position

I think the video evidence is inconclusive

However, the Avs were already down 3-2 when that counted. Seems to me like that wasn't the difference maker in the game?

If you think Mike Milbury is being punished for his latest comment alone, you're out of your depth with this discussion.

He should have been on his last chance about 5 years ago...

Lightning are all over this place this postseason. I love the clutch wins but fuck can we just hold onto a lead for once?

I had this coach when I played as a teenager named Richie. He was from southie and his accent made sure you knew it. A good Irish boy. I forgot what brought him and his brother to Colorado.

Anyway, you saying this made me think of him. He was always encouraging us to "use the backhandah! It's the most dangerous shawt in awl a' hawkey!" :lol

Coburn has played really well in place of McDonagh.

Cooper finally made adjustments to the power play.

Bruins took all the dumb penalties instead of us.

2nd line finally contributed.

Now let's do this every game...

Is there some other Coburn other than Brayden?

Coburn has always been good, but he didn't have the style to carry the horrid Flyers D after Pronger went down.

No that is wrong. The most dangerous lead is a 1 goal lead. Teams don't lose 2 goal leads more than they lose 1 goal leads. Teams don't lose focus when up by 2 goals anymore than they do 1 goal leads.

This. Blew my mind how little Flyers fans understood how good Coburn is.

Iím not trying to say he was bad, just it seems like he was traded 20 years ago so I forgot who he was

I feel like the NHL is in a difficult spot. Half the league is Canadian and European. Would people even notice. And how would white American kids from the burbs talk about something they don't really have experience with? I feel like would anyone care or notice that hockey didn't play because of racism? Hockey did play last night and did anyone really get up in arms in the sports world.

Might make a bigger statement if they do? Like, this affects the NHL less statistically, but the issue is that important?

I don't think that hockey is as important socially as other leagues when it comes to racism issues. I feel like hockey players don't have the same life experience.

26.5% of NHL players are American.

Is CNN going dark in the US for 24 hours to raise awareness too?
