That 3rd goal by Bergeron was the most defeating thing I've seen. The goalie had no idea

At this point I’m all in for the Blues. I like the Sharks but it’s time. Those people have waited an awfully long time now. And frankly, the Sharks have turned me off with all the excessive bullshit that’s gone their way in these playoffs. Mostly the way they’ve handled it. Thornton and Karlsson and DeBoer the other night especially.

Go Blues. Those fans deserve it. It would be amazing to see Chief’s name on the Cup next to ours.

I want Sharks/Bruins

It’s insane how the east went down this year. Isles sweep the Pens then get swept by the Canes; canes get swept by the bruins. Has that ever happened before? Does this mean the Bruins get swept in the finals?

I'm not sure if it is accurate it was a caller on a local radio show.

But yeah it didn't give me the warm and fuzzes. The Bruins could use some rest...but I don't want it to go too long. Game 1 could be rough

Just looked up the last 10 Cup Finals. The winner had a longer series 6 out of 10 times.

EDIT: just went all the way back to the lock out, 9 times out of 13 the winner had the longer series

we really know how to party in Boston

Re: The NHL Thread: The year of Stanley Cupsets!

closest in the seven game series era was 1992--no sweeps in the first round, but boston swept montreal in second round, pittsburgh swept boston in third round (conf. finals), then pittsburgh swept chicago in finals

so not the zig-zag of this year's bracket

also that year chicago swept detroit in second round, swept edmonton in conf. finals, then got swept by pittsburgh in SCF

so that was a very sweep heavy year

Two of those outliers swept the previous series.

2010 - Chicago swept the WCF and won the cup
2009 - Pittsburgh swept the ECF and won the cup

Coincidentally against the Sharks and the Canes

I'm not in on the Blues enough to root for them but with the way the postseason has gone it would be fitting that the worst team in the league on January 2nd would win the cup

With that being said, is it good for the NHL or sports in general for a team to go from zero to hero

What were the odds for the Blues to win the cup on January 2nd, where's Drakan at when you need him

Honestly after what happened for us last year, I’m totally in on teams like St. Louis. Every fan base deserves to feel it at least once. St Louis has put the time in.

He has. I wonít be sad to see him lift it necessarily. I didnít like how he handled the ot thing the other night. I think thereís a way to handle that with some integrity and he really didnít. Plus I feel for the fans in this situation more than the players. Players come and go. Fans really donít. Joe Thornton does probably deserve a Stanley Cup. So thereís that. I donít really know man, anyone but Boston :lol

Iíd like for the Blues to win the west.

Then I would pull for the team that is losing in the cup.
