Big 4?
I personally think so.

Re: Big 4?
Too soon.
|
Re: Big 4?
Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax? Fuck ya!
|
No, but it's close.
Big 3 > Busted Stuff > AFTW > Everyday/BW >>> Stand Up |
Re: Big 4?
Until the lyrics get back to where they were, being creative with Dave "showing" the listener instead of "telling" every message he's trying to convey, there will be no big 4.
|
Re: Big 4?
Even if AFTW is "big 4" material, it is way too soon to be making that determination.
|
Re: Big 4?
Horrible poll options. Where's "big 3 now, maybe one day big 4"

Re: Big 4?
Not yet, but I can see myself putting it above Busted Stuff eventually. Now, as for big 4? Don't think so.
|
Re: Big 4?
Way too soon! First, this album needs to find some lasting quality and then see how well it translates live. Part of the reason I don't care for BW anymore is because it's forgettable and didn't translate well in the live setting. I have higher hopes for this album.

Re: Big 4?
I wish I could dig up these exact threads being made about Big Whiskey.
I also wish Nancies forums were still up so I can find posts praising Stand Up for being a great album. It's too soon. This could be regarded as a Big Four album in a few years, but until then, let's wait. |
Re: Big 4?
Oh well, I f'd the poll up. who cares. it's a thread, discuss. However if an admin wants to make better options (or just delete this thread altogether), please do. I thought I'd be able to go back and edit them.

We overreact to shit too quickly. It's good. But let's maybe wait till it's released officially before we start judging it like this lol |

There is a big 4 if we include TLws though. Can't put this album there yet. |
Re: Big 4?
I do think it is incredibly soon, but I do think that this one will end up making it a Big 4. This was miles beyond everything I was expecting. Has some of their best work in easily a decade and gives me a lot of hope for what is to come with this band. This is two very positive albums in a row for them and they were sorely in need of it. Big Whiskey was good, this is great. Steve Lilywhite and this band never need to part again in my opinion.
|
Re: Big 4?
Musically it's close. Lyrically the first three are clearly (and understandably) better.
Great album, though. I think with time I may be able to put it ahead of Busted Stuff. |
Re: Big 4?
:lol No.
|
Re: Big 4?
Trust me, I'd love for this band to retire with what their fanbase considers a Big Eight or something, but let's wait for a bit.
|
Re: Big 4?
There should be a "too early to tell" option.
|
Re: Big 4?
as much as i love BW, and many of those songs are my favorites live and will be always you can't deny Steve's STUDIO work with this band. I hope he stays around.
that being said if they choose to stray from Steve i'd want them to run back into the arms of Cavallo without question. |
Re: Big 4?
You left out the correct option in the poll.

Re: Big 4?
This album is definitely better than Busted Stuff. Big 5 it is.

Re: Big 4?
the fact that during Gorge weekend we got Halloween, Minarets, Raven, YNK and other killer gems but my fondest memories are when they played the new album material speaks volumes...especially Gaucho. that song is the ultimate live. unless you've experienced this at the Gorge you might not agree.

Re: Big 4?
BIG 5
UTTAD CRASH BTCS Busted Stuff AFTW ...how is Busted Stuff soo forgotten? there is not one bad song on that album |
Re: Big 4?
no way this poll can be answered legitimately 8 hours after the album came out :lol
|
Re: Big 4?
can't anyone around here ever let go and stop comparing everything they do to the "big 3" albums? jeez.
