I will enjoy it, thanks! Our team is looking good this season and I was feeling this good even when we were in 3rd and 4th place. You can hate on the Rangers all you want! :D

Got 4th row seats to the last Bruins home game of the year for Christmas. I'll take it.

Well for your sake I hope he's still there next year. I always seemed to have bad luck with that.

He's the leading scorer on the team and I don't think they're gonna pass up the chance to resign him. I believe they'll do what they can to keep Weber and let Suter go.

Woo! Seriously though, this is easily the best ranger team since the lockout and it remains to be seen how good they can be. The PK is awesome right now, the PP is better than recent years, Hank is playing at a level unlike any he's reached before, and the team is no longer a one or two line team. Even the 4th line lately has been playing great. Torts has had Boyle, Mitchell, and Prust on the ice a lot in the third period lately to preserve leads.

Okay, enOugh of the NyR colored glasses, as you all can tell, I'm excited.

This is pretty sad. He leads the team in points. As a defenseman.

He has 29 points. That's pretty impressive. The Bruins are top 3 in the league in goals and their leading point scorer only has 31.

No doubt 29 points is fantastic for a d-man. The problem is that you aren't likely to be much better than a fringe playoff team if your leading scorer is a defenseman.

Yeah I agree, the Preds forwards are a pretty embarassing group. Their first line consists of guys who would be third liners at best on the top teams in the league.

Stan is looking like a ******** genius on this deal right now. 2 years, $875k cap hit. At this rate, Stal would probably get 3 times that amount on the free agent market this during the offseason.

the NHL will be so much more entertaining with the new playoff setup and realignment in general. Any division game will be well worth watching.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

just being in the same conference is going to make the game that much better.

and you laugh about Florida now, but it looks like Dale has done it again. He signed a bunch of guys to 3-5 year deals, and they have a top 3 pipeline in the minors. They will continue to be very good.

dduncan6er 12-27-2011 06:23 PM

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

Totally disagree. I still don't think they make the playoffs this year.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

But I will say Huberdeau is going to be a very good player for them. He impressed me in the World Juniors for team Canada last night.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

I think they make the playoffs. They won't be 3rd, but they will get a lower seed.

Florida will definitely make the playoffs. They're the Bolts from last year.

Disagree. In fact, they have quite a skilled group of guys. Hornqvist, Erat, etc are tremendously talented. The reason they don't appear that way on the scoresheet is because the budget-based Preds rely on a team system to even stay competitive. The brilliance of Barry Trotz is that he's convinced all these guys to buy into it.

Of course, this regular season success does not mean anything until it can transfer to playoff success. But anyone who actually sits and watches these guys play will conclude they are not the best in the league, but they're pretty damn talented, not embarrassing by any means. Chad, Be proud of the work ethic your team exhibits. That's the thing I love most about the Preds.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

I would gladly take Erat.
