Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
I'm a Kevin Dineen fan... does that count?

Gord Dineen (Kevin's big bro) played for a long time with the Utah Grizzlies back in the day and is currently the only Grizzlies player with his number retired. I paid attention to Kevin because of him, and was never disappointed. Always a team player, whose on-ice attitude has translated extremely well to coaching. |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Bruins-Pens should be a good one tonight.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Reading some of the tweets some governors think it's a simple swap of teams for the realignment. Again that surprises me. If the Coyotes go to Quebec or anywhere out east, Detroit or Columbus will be right back here. Plus a more balanced schedule is good for the NHL I think. I mean don't you want Crosby, Ovie and Stamkos going to Phoenix, Dallas etc every year? Same goes for having Detroit and Chicago go to Carolina, FLA, NYI, TBL etc. Could very well know by 9pm EST tonight.

Personally, I can't decide if I love the 4 conference idea. It would be RIDICULOUS come playoff time. |

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
the four conference thing is absolutely the way to go. It's not fair to the entire western conference with the way traveling works and the times for their fans. It is a much better situation for the entire league if they do 4 conferences.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Puck Daddy did a great write up on the problems with the 4 conference thing:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puc...medium=twitter That's the only reason why I'm skeptical. Example, last year, the Stars would have been in the playoffs instead of the Kings. |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
yeah that is the only downfall of it.
however, a Vancouver vs Chicago cup final is possible, as is Flyers Bruins |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
starting to get a little testy at the end of the period. otherwise pretty uneventful.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Not sure if its wise for crosby to start stirring shit up after the whistle.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Crosby definitely took an elbow to the face, looks pissed as hell during the intermission.

Welp, Fleury probably has a concussion now too.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Absolute gift of a call on that 2nd penalty. Should be 4 on 4 not 5 on 3.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Timmy has 7 saves during 5 on 3 play tonight.
