Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
The 09-10 team didn't go on a tear until their third game in November when they went on an 8 game win streak going into the Circus trip.
October is the worst month to judge a team on. You're trying to figure out your chemistry, trying to get a good idea of lines, and just trying to get the wheels turning. Of course this team needs a lot of improvement, but if this were last years team, you could easily take 4 or 5 of our eight wins and make them losses. This team is finding ways to win while trying to figure out who they are, and they are going to go off. They always do. They are a great team and everything that is going wrong with them is not a matter of not having talent, it's a matter of developing chemistry. So shut up, and just enjoy these wins in while they are coming in. and if you want to improve the defense, seperate Seabrook and Hjalmarrson for christ's sake. |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
4-8 should really be paired together. I think 2-8 are what really needs to be separated more so than 4-7, though.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
I think the D pairings have been working out as of late, but I do not think they work so well when Keith is out and Seabrook and Hjalmarsson have to play top pair minutes. Montador, Lepisto, and O'Donnell have been significantly better than guys like Cullimore, Boynton, and Hendry, though.

It makes 0 sense having Leddy and Keith together, and I will keep saying it until they are broken up |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Leddy and Keith are the EXACT SAME player. You need to pair the players like that, that love to pinch in on offense and carry the puck with a stay-at-home type aka Seabrook or Hammer. D-pairings should be 2 and 7, 4 and 8, 5 and 6/20.
So when will Lou get pulled tomorrow or is Van not even gonna bother starting him? |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
I just think they are pairing Leddy with Keith and Hammer with Seabrook so each of the younger guys is playing with a veteran. Leddy is handling himself well but I don't really like the thought of 4 with 8. Too many mistakes.
You can say what you want, but when the team had the 8-game winning streak last year, Leddy and Keith were paired together. For the start of this season, Leddy and Keith were paired together and we were 7-2-2. |

so you mean to tell me 2-8 4-7 is better than 2-7 4-8? Not a chance in hell |

Rick Nash is an amazing human being. How anyone could not ask out of that organization is either as good as Mother Teresa or heavily into drugs.

Holy shit Jackets.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Christ they are so bad. Mason needs to get out of there or he's going to be ruined forever.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Seguin with a hat trick against Toronto. Doesn't get much better than that.

I don't know how Scott Arniel can keep his job after tonight's loss. That was just embarrassing.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
I wish I could personally thank the reporter who asked kessel about how he felt about seguins hat trick. His reaction was priceless.

This isn't really Howson's fault though. I mean he at least put up an attempt to ice a good team. I really think this is on the coaching staff. The Blue Jackets have quit on their coach. They didn't even care about the result tonight in the locker room after the game.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
The Jackets are bad, but they aren't this bad.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Duncan Keith out for the Hawks for the 3rd straight game. Doesn't bode well. Should be an interesting game but I really wish we knew what the deal was with Keith. Day-to-day is turning into a week+ and it seems like Hossa and Keith each missed a couple weeks last year while being "day-to-day."

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Bieksa on beating #Blackhawks in Game 7 last spring: "We felt like we won the Cup after that game." :lol :lol
Bolland on Vancouver game: "I love this day. I think the guys always love this day, too." Toews: "There are some games over an 82-game schedule that just feel like another game. This is the exact opposite of that." #Blackhawks center Dave Bolland on tonight's match-up vs. #Canucks: "It will be a crazy game." I could not be more fired up for this game, and I just found out 10 minutes ago that I'm now going. I'm pretty much walking out the door right now to go to the library to study for my quiz tomorrow and then I'm shooting downtown, but Chris if you're going I'm sitting in section 329 right above the bar, and I'll probably be hanging out near that bar during intermissions. |

Mike, I wish I was. I might have tickets in 328, but it's about a 5% chance right now. I'm trying my best to make it happen. If I do, I'll PM you my cell and we can meet up for a beer or two.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Is the Hawks/Canucks nationally broadcast tonight? You guys need to watch this game. Going to be near-playoff atmosphere in Chicago tonight.
