Tyler Seguin sent to Stars. He had 1 goal in '13 Playoffs while having the 4th-most shots (70). The 3 w/ more shots all had 9+ goals.

It's definitely a very interesting stat. A lot gets factored into scoring goals with a high shot total, and luck is one of them. Sometimes you get the bounces and sometimes you don't.

It's also being reported today that the team had to sequester him in a hotel room, with a guard during the playoffs so he didn't go out and drink his face off.

The issue I had with Seguin in the playoffs wasn't really anything that could be qualifed by a statistic. There seemed to be more than a few occasions where he came down on an odd man rush and made poor decisions with the puck.

Sounds like Alfie has all but confirmed he will not re-sign with OTT. Will land in Boston or Detroit. Can't blame the guy trying to win a cup I suppose, although we see how that worked out for Iggy....

got the day off since I'm working the weekend. Morning errands done. Kids off to camp and ready for noon and the frenzy to begin..

If Emery is true, one less G for the Isles to be in on. Sure hope we sign someone today for JT's wing. First choice is Clarkson, which is a long shot. Maybe someone like Ryder would be a welcome fall back and an upgrade from Boyes.

Want 2 signings today or at least one big one. Need to spend the money anyways.

Have heard 0 about Brunner which is scary. Clearly is an option but Dallas sounds possible. Plus the team needs #11 now so Cleary has to go. :-)

Flyers talking with Gagne's agent. He and Vinny are close friends and I'm sure that's gonna be a huge bargaining chip for Gagne if he feels Vinny can elevate his game again.

Scuderi might be a Penguin again. Rumors of a 3-year, $3 mil/yr deal. A lot of people are saying that this is too much and too long for Scuds, but I love this. Pens need a guy like him back on the team, albeit an aged version. He's still got the goods. I'm excited if this comes true.

The fact that Horton's agent was so vocal about him being in Columbus on Wednesday leads me to think he's just using them to drive up his price somewhere else.

I would like to keep both, but I think Brunner has to take priority for the organization. Younger player who has serious potential. I'm horrified that the Wings will lose both players in this market.

Yeah. I'm fine losing Clearly. He's older and they have enough depth. Brunner has a nice future. But with a shallow free agent pool he could get dumb money.

Alfie and Emery will be within 10 prolly. The other big ones will be with an hour maybe two. The 48 hour window will help speed things up.
