Both teas have been amazing at home all season. Pens get 2/3 at home. Have to bank one on Thursday because I have little faith they can win game 6 in Nashville.

Could easily be wrong though. They had a bunch of grade A chances, if they bury one it changes he complexion of the game. Rinne came up big.

Penguins D have been so bad in transition, it's giving up tons of chances with the neutral zone turnovers they are having over and over.

What an amazing two games from the Preds. I was in Nashville on Saturday and hosting a watch party tonight in Knoxville but the energy of the state is on another level. Hoping it keeps people watching. I got converted during the 2nd round playoff run against Vancouver in 2011 so I'm hoping the same happens to many MANY more people.

People trying to tear down preds fanbase are fucking stupid. too much of that shit coming out of this city the last week.

I actually think NBC sports did a great job covering the games down there and made it fun. Only mistake was letting Charles Barkley in on the intermission.

Sad to hear people in Pittsburgh are trying to do that. Seems a bit odd seeing as how I remember the Pens fan base being pretty thin at games in the late 1990's and early 2000's when it looked like the team might fail.

Anyone who is down on the Preds fan base has clearly never been to Nashville. That city loves that team. I was there in 2014 and they talked about the Preds on literally every tour I took while there. Absolutely zero mention of the Titans :lol

Pens are in trouble. Not sure they have much left.

Ive seen it from fans and media alike here.. and some canadian media people.

If you want the sport to grow you embrace things like whats going on in nashville.

eh they have to win 2/3 at home. thats not real trouble.

If they bury one of those chances, Kunitz break away, 2nd sid breakaway or Guentzel on the open net its a totally different game.

Defense is struggling though. But I feel strongly HCMS will change something up going into thursday.

Here's hoping. They just havent looked good. Last couple series though, game 4 is where you really started to see adjustments. I felt last night they looked better, but couldnt cash in on some good chances. The D looks bad though. Slow and old. Shame Letang is out. He'd make a difference. I'd consider putting in Ruhwedel.

Someone tweeted out that it's funny hockey fans say how popular the NHL is now but then put down Nashville. They succeed, us other markets succeed. This isn't 10 years ago where they almost moved. Things have changed a lot. FLA, ARZ and Carolina still have issues but Nashville has rebounded a lot the last 10 years.

Preds should be up at least 3-1 this series. Looks like Rinne is back and this team is just firing on all cylinders. Love it.

NBC did a wonderful job building up Nashville and showing off that environment. It was well done and great league-building.

I know I bag on Pens fans for being bandwagoners, and that's still fine if it's people team-hopping. But new fans? That's a great thing. And the success of teams like Nashville only does wonders for this sport. If I take away my Flyers bias, I desperately want Nashville to win for that reason alone. I'd feel the same way if the Preds were playing a non-rival like Chicago, who has had that recent success.

It's a great city for a sports team, and never would have thought that sport would have been ice hockey. A baseball team there would be super fun.

And yea, Florida and Arizona don't deserve teams at all. Yotes should have moved to Vegas, and the Panthers should be up for a move to Canada. Carolina's market isn't that made. I saw a lot of Canes stuff when I was down there a few years ago in bars and restaurants. Hockey does well in Tampa too.

Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)

I hope for the Preds to keep it up after this year. Carolina, FLA and Tampa suffered by not sustaining that success. The atmosphere in FLA was crazy in 96 and then after 97 only made the playoffs once in 14 years. Tampa has rebounded now but 2005-2013 they made the playoffs like twice and had one decent run in 2010 but are looking good now.

Agree that Yotes should have just gone to Vegas but whatever. Panthers to Quebec (would stay in the same division they are now which is with the Habs so good there) and Yotes to Seattle (if they get a new arena) or Portland and we're done.

I think we will see Ruhwedel in game 5. Hopefully Bonino too.

I dont understand how its gimmicky. The team has been there since 98, there last 5 seasons have all been over 95% in tickets sold.

They created a unique atmosphere, thats good for them and good for the league.

I don't know if this is Brad's thought process but there are people who think it needs to be the way Crosby is and Toews is, very low key. You've got to play to the market. Sure Carolina or Nashville isn't Pit, DET, Montreal, but that's fine. I might have used to think that way but you gotta make the environment work for your market. That seems like a fun place to be and Carolina was in 2002 and 2006 too. I remember in 2002 Carolina used to make the seats lower to the ice the cheap ones for two reasons. One because lets face it those seats aren't the best view but it was also to get the louder people down there. Don Cherry was saying back then it was great because it made it really loud at ice level.

Have to say CBC has been talking about Nashville during the broadcasts too so it's not just NBC.

The chants, the catfish, destroying cars outside. Theyre all gimmicks. Not saying i have an issue with it, its fun for them. Also not saying anything negative about the fans, they're invested, and growing.
