Hurricanes owner Don Waddell had some interesting comments regarding Alex Semin and the decision to buy him out. Best quote is easily: "In simple terms, we paid him $14 million to go away". Ouch. Though I will say, $14 mil to fuck off ain't a bad gig if you're the one fucking off. |
Re: The NHL Thread
I'll fuck off for 14 dollars.

Pacioretty named captain of the Habs.
Voted on by his teammates, which is pretty cool and has got to be a rewarding feeling for him. |
Re: The NHL Thread
Such a bad look for this fanbase.
@frank_seravalli: Patrick Kane receives the loudest roar from fans as he steps on the ice for the beginning of #Blackhawks camp. http://t.co/r5A8nFROBR |

No Kane Merchandise for sale at camp.

Re: The NHL Thread

Camp underway. I was all for signing Zdlicky a couple of months ago but was excited when we didn't to see Pulock get his chance. I guess we shall see how it plays out now
I was glad Nelson signed and got in on time. Otherwise, we were facing another Bergenheim situation like 06 or 07. I will be making the trek to Barclays at least once this year. One of my best friends' dad is on the board of the Brooklyn Nets and so Friday night he invited our poker group, which is about 7-10 guys to all go to the Islanders - Rangers game on a Sunday in March. Something to look forward to. I'm assuming it's a suite but maybe not. We'll see. And.......Jagr rules. |
Re: The NHL Thread
what's the deal with center ice this year? Still no streaming, individual teams, etc?

Re: The NHL Thread
Need advice/opinions on my long time auction keeper league. We keep 4 guys and the cap is $450.
I am keeping Getzlaf at $27 and Tarasenko (who I won last year at auction) for $47 and G Corey Schneider at $5. Schneider won't win lots but his other stats will be solid and he is minimum salary. MY last spot comes down to Okposo who I kept last year for $5 bucks or J Schwarz at $39. I am debating about pairing the LW, a thin position in fantasy, Schwarz with Tarasenko and hope they continue to get better together. I can keep them forever at that price. Okposo is the better value as he would likely go for $40 bucks in open market but Schwarz would go for about $55. I am leaning Okposo. Thoughts? |

Re: The NHL Thread
Finally joined the league. How do I pick keepers again?

Re: The NHL Thread
I have not received an email about rejoining the league. Has everyone else?

How many keepers? I kept three for now. |
Re: The NHL Thread
I was also wondering about how many. That determines a lot. Keeping Price, there is no doubt on that one.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Keeping Ovie and Doughty. Unsure if I'll keep more.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
As for preseason hockey, yeah I don't give a shit. Most aren't on TV here anyways plus you never know who is gonna play.
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Keeping Stamkos and Kessel for sure. May keep Bobrovsky too
|
Re: The NHL Thread
Getting in my obligatory pre-season "Leafs are going to win the CUP!!!!!!"
Carry on. |
