man, the Flyers are totally going to be stuck with Bryz as a backup.

Hiller is gone to Calgary for four mil a year.

I hope Pierre does that all year.

"I love this Jonathan Toews. I would have brought him to Pittsburgh"

This a decent point. Still, the idea of him playing next to Mike Green (which is what makes sense to me) kinda makes me hesitant.

I mean, we could get into a whole "I bet they are" and "I bet they're not" type thing, but I doubt it. The Avs seem to be targeting certain types of guys to complement their roster. Vanek does not fit that type. Iginla does. Also, they let Stastny walk because they wouldn't overpay, so I don't think they'd shell it out for a player like Vanek.

Vanek to the Wild. Central division is just insane

Re: The NHL Thread

6.5mil per for 3 years for Vanek in Minny. Say it ain't so!

fonzz41 07-01-2014 01:45 PM

Re: The NHL Thread

Yeah, Colorado would never have even thought about giving a 1-dimensional guy 6.5/year. That's more than both Duchene and The Gabe.

Robidas to TOR. Good signing.

Re: The NHL Thread

watch Minnesota get Niskanen too and no one will know what to do with the Central

They are saying just 3 years for vanek. Where are all the 7 year deals today

That Central divison....sorry Matty but I think Minny/STL/Chicago/Dallas are gonna feast on the Avs next year.

Challenge accepted. It's gonna be insane.

Minny will regret the Vanek signing. Will turn out like Heatley. Deal includes NTC

Re: The NHL Thread

Kinda bummed. Would have liked Hiller in Philly. But he'll start in Calgary so that's a no-brainer for him.

For him, he wanted to go to Minny so took what he could get.

Avs sign Gervais :lol He'll be great sitting at #8 on the depth chart.

Great job re-signing Nick Holden.

So Jets never making the playoffs. There is just no way in that division.

Re: The NHL Thread

I'm actually pretty impressed with the Sabres. Now add Moulson. Willing to pay more to get to the floor = FA's will give them a bit of a look.

Doesn't immediately make them contenders, but they've added some really good pieces.

Also, Havlat to NJD.

Niskanen will NOT be signing with Detroit

Re: The NHL Thread

Waiting for Wings fans to not understand why not every player wants to play here. Fire Ken Holland for a player wanting to go elsewhere! This isn't the old NHL. Every team is on the same level now, more so as the cap has gone up because these teams have to pay to get to the floor. I'm sure Wings offered good money so the player needs to go where he wants. Sucks Wings have missed out but...shit happens.

Re: The NHL Thread

Iginla to Avs. Liking it. Favorite of the Avs vet pick ups so far. Of all of them, I see him working out the best. Will click with guys like Mac and Gabe.

That's a lot for sure. A year or two...ok but 3 at that price is a lot.
