Just had to come here and share thAt the wife and I just met Boyd on Broadway here in Saratoga. It was pandemonium outside this restaurant but I got to thank him and the band and told him that without him and the band, I'd have never met my beautiful wife 12 years ago and now have 2 great kids. He then grabbed my wife and gave her a big hug. It was such an amazing moment. Cheesy or not. We both got a little choked up by the moment. Just had to share.

Enjoy game 7, y'all.

@ESPNStatsInfo: Blackhawks force Game 7 by beating Kings. Blackhawks are 13-0 in Games 5, 6 and 7 since start of 2013 playoffs

Have not bought a Hawks jersey since 91/92 season when I customized a home Roenick jersey with the NHL 75th anniversary patch. I was still a whalers fan at the time but I liked the Hawks because Jeremy was a great player, good guy and a lot of fun to have beers with during and after pick up games. :lol

They'll all disappear once the Hawks or Kings end the series in 5.

Perch1019 05-31-2014 09:29 PM

Yea because I'm sure every King and Blackhawks fan out there was around before the last few seasons.
Bandwagon or not it's awesome to see people walking around NY with Rangers shit on. Anything to help hockey's popularity is fine by me.

I 100% agree with this. No need to shit on people hopping on the bandwagon. It's the people that hop off that we can make fun of.

Re: The NHL Thread

This is as good as it gets, folks.

Quote:

The Blackhawks are 13-0 in Games 5-7 over the last two postseasons. They’re 5-0 when facing elimination. The Los Angeles Kings are 6-0 when facing elimination this spring alone and 2-0 in road Game 7s. And the 19 Kings expected to play Sunday are a combined 64-2 in Game 7s in their careers. Justin Williams, Marian Gaborik and Mike Richards each are 6-0 in Game 7s, and Williams has six goals and six assists in those six games.

Of course, the numbers are as meaningless as they are staggering. Past is not prologue. History doesn’t always repeat itself. But they underscore just how good these teams have been — how *talented, how mentally strong, how difficult to kill.

“Both teams are good when it comes down to big games, so it’s going to be the toughest game to win of the series,” Hawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson said. “Both teams are pretty equal in those kinds of situations, so it kind of evens out. It’s just best-of-one — one game, and winner goes to the Final. So it’s pretty exciting.”

I don't have a problem with people hopping on the bandwagon, as long as they know their place--meaning that they don't act like they've been watching the team since 1990, when it's evident that the only player they know on the team is Claude Giroux.

There is something about a great playoff run, where everyone wears a hat, shirt, scarf, etc. Something that notify the world that "hey, the Flyers are in the playoffs and I'm supporting them." It's like people who own Jeeps--they have their own little code.

Damn, someone told me about that glitch on NHL.com yesterday afternoon but I was preoccupied and couldn't get around to it until last night. Too bad. Now I'm itching for a new jersey but don't want to shell out like $170.

How's everyone's experience with the knockoff Chinese jerseys? I've heard mixed reviews, some good, some bad. Any particular sites that do a better job than others?

I believe it's called Jimanis. It's a Chicago bar in NOLA. When I was there that's how I watched games. Screw LA

Nice. The Jimani is about a 10 minute walk down Chartres St from here. Will try to stop by there later!
