Aw Chris! Understandable though, traveling is a bitch sometimes. If anything changes, let me know. Otherwise, other time!

Remember the feeling perfectly from two years ago -- first time being old enough to actually enjoy the experience. Didn't even feel real until Game 1 of the Cup actually started :lol

But congrats to you and all the other Rangers fans around here! If Kings do make it, it should be a fun couple weeks being a Kings fan living in NYC :thumbsup

Re: The NHL Thread

Have some serious mixed emotions today. Went to sleep just as time expired in the Ranger game. On the one hand, I despise and hate the Rangers with every fiber of my being. It was developed going to many Islander/Ranger game growing up the 80's, seeing the hate on the ice and in the stands and having some incidents with older Rangers fans' myself, who thought it was fun to tease a 12-14 year old. Hockey is by far my favorite sport. But years ago, it was a hatred for the players just much as it was on the logo alone. I hated most of the players on that '94 cup team. These days, it seems less for players with so much player movement but the logo remains my hated enemy, So I truly am not bothered as much as I was in 1994 by this run of the Ranger$. I mean it was due with all the money they have spent on payroll the last 20 years. They lucked into drafting Henrik and here there are.

So I am really happy for some close friends today as some of them are really huge hockey fans' and deserve to experience this feeling and run the Rag$ are on. One guy, who is marrying my cousin, was too young for '94 to really remember and I am very happy for him. Kid is a crazy intense Ranger fan.

I was a little young and not as much into hockey (as I became when we got half season tickets for the 85-86 season) for the Islander's cup run so, for me, my 2nd greatest sports moment remains David Volek's OT goal in 1993, which sent the Islanders to the 2nd round, yes the 2nd round. I know. I think if or when the Islanders make a run like this again, I will need to live in a hotel for those weeks because my wife will kick me out of the house that spring. Congrats to you Rag$ guys in here and go Hawks/Kings. Can't let you get the cup. That would be too much to take.

Can't believe it. I was so hopped up on adrenaline after the game was over that I passed out at 11:30 with a huge smile on my face.

4 wins away!

Woke up this morning still in shock. Last time they won the cup I was 1 year old and Leetch brought the cup to his/my hometown in CT. Guess you could say I was born into being a fan and can't wait for the finals. Going to be extremely tough but they've been doubted the whole playoffs so why not them?

Oh god, don't stop posting Greg.

Haha, I went to another bar where we ran into a miss-placed Leafs fan here in Nebraska. Had a few more with him and finally passed out in my hotel room! What a night!

Also, just watched the story about Moore on sportscenter. Very emotional and sad. So happy for Moore last night. That must have been huge for him!

I'm in need of a good cry. Do you have a link? A cursory search yielded nothing for me.

Not sure if that's the same one that was on SC. Could be cause they usually replay E:60 things on SC.

That didn't even click for me at first. You definitely need to get this.

daveshookme 05-30-2014 11:45 AM

If the e:60 I just watched on Vimeo was the same one you linked: holy fuck. Had to root against the rangers. St. Louis, Moore...
