Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
No Hjalmarsson, no Montador for Hawks against Sharks. This is going to be a clusterfuck in our own end. Would be a huge win if they could pull together, though.

Anyone watch Wings vs. Ducks tonight? The best regular season game I can remember seeing in a very long time. I'm a Wings fan though, so I'm admittedly biased, but both teams just played great the whole way through.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
how we came out of that scrum on the kill, I have no idea. If anything, that was a wash between Toews Thornton Clowe and OD. Joe Thornton is the biggest jagbag in the league.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Quote:
Q has officially lost it, though. He plays Michael fucking Frolik on the 1st line with Hossa and Toews....why? Kid has done nothing all year. Meanwhile, Stalberg gets stuck on the 4th line. We spend nearly 6 minutes of that period on the PP and Stalberg doesn't see the ice once. Meanwhile, we have Brunette-Shaw-Kruger out there on the 2nd unit. It's just nonsense. You have 3 borderline NHL'ers on the 2nd PP unit together. Just let that sink in. Not to mention the dreadful PK that just gives up goals instantly....2 let in by the PK and another that was disallowed (and was a very soft call). |

Just wondering, you think Q should stay? I'm starting to become on the fence. Just no excuse for Stalberg > 4th line, Frolik > 1st line. Even after Frolik commits a 4-minute high-stick (same thing he did in Calgary) on his first fucking shift. |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Quote:
There has been, no doubt, terrible player management for the Hawks this season, and especially lately. Where to begin? Lepisto: There is no reason this guy should not have been getting more of an opportunity, unless this guy banged Q's daughter. He has done nothing horrible in all of his time, and the thought that John Scott and Dylan Olsen are getting opportunities before this guy says something. Why is he even on the team? Glad he's playing tonight. Montador: This guy has not been nearly as bad as the majority of people would say, because he has been stuck with OD and John Scott all damn season. The 3rd worst PK in the league, and John Scott is getting PK time before Montador? What does it take for this guy to get a chance? Frolik: Without question, he plays his best when with Bolland, and that line played very well at the beginning of the year. Why they have not gone back to this is questionable. Bickell: Plays his best game of the year against Vancouver, looks to have started to turn the corner, get benched for 3 games. I just don't get it. I can very well keep going. You pile that on top of Q's ease in switching lines on a period-by-period basis, but will make no adjustment on the PP or PK schemes, especially when Kitch's PK scheme of a triangle +1 system has given him bottom 5 PK his entire coaching career. I don't get it. |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
This sharks broadcast is terrible. Hahn and Remenda are garbage.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Good period from the Hawks...can't be making mistakes at the opponent's blue-line like that. Tough to win games when you give up 3+ goals every single night.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
I can't decide what is worse, team D or goaltending.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
It is the same song on repeat for the Hawks. On a losing streak like this, with a team this good, the blame is now shifting to the coaches.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

But to bench him for the entirety of the 3rd is just plain stupid when he brings so much energy. Frolik fucking took a 4-min minor (his 2nd in 3 games) in the first minute of the hockey game but he still got more looks on the 1st line after that. Stalberg fucked up. Ok, yeah, on the same shift that he kept the puck in because of his effort on the fore-check. Doesn't mean you just say fuck off to one of your 6 most skilled forwards for the 3rd period. Crawford was terrible. Godawful side to side on the first goal....4th goal completely loses his net like usual.....5th goal he just doesn't move. He played horrible on a night when the team as a whole played a pretty strong game and really fucking worked for it. |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Hawks lose in Columbus next week and I believe Q gets the ax, hopefully with Mike Kitchen to follow. Worst run special teams in hockey.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Kitch should go. I'm starting to come around to the Q leaving thing, but it's just because he doesn't have the balls to tell Kitch to get fucked. I would love Haviland as the Head Coach.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Q's the head coach. If he doesn't like the system Kitchen is running than its his fault for not getting rid of it. Kitchen is Q's good buddy though from STL so that won't happen. It is time for a change team is a joke right now and it's not getting better anytime soon.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
The bruins need to bounce back against the preds today. They've been struggling to score and Nashville is coming to town, so I'm not really sure that'll help matters.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Something wrong with the Hawks?
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
A win today puts some serious room between NYR and Philly with a tough schedule ahead for the rangers. Caps tomorrow, bruins tuesday.
