Keep in mind Campbell would have to approve the trade. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

it's all over twitter and Hradek just said they are trying to find out if it just happened on NHL Live

EDIT: I shouldn't say it's all over twitter, but a few have come out and said it happened

Lots of hoops to jump through, especially with Soupy.

Campbell turned down waiving his NTC.

Not done. He declined to waive his NTC too.

what i don't get is that if he declined to waive it last night, why is this heating up and getting close now?

Changed his mind? Slept on it? Who knows. Other teams in play maybe.

there are a few teams with more money than Columbus. goddammit.

"Told reports that Blackhawks D Brian Campbell refused to waive his no-trade clause for #CBJ are inaccurate. This from high source in #CBJ."

"Campbell may have declined to waive his NTC within the last few days, but it was not for #CBJ."

cool stat
Only 8 times has a player that was picked first overall gone on to win the Cup with the team that drafted him. 3 of those 8 players are Pittsburgh Penguins. Mario, Fleury, and Sid.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins #1 overall. Another great offensive talent on the rise for the Oil. I would have preffered them to take Larsson to fill up the D-line, but can't complain with this kid :thumbsup

Also, LOVING the fact that it's all but a done deal that #94 Smyth is coming back to Oil country!

I'm just glad he didn't go to Calgary. Smyth will be good in Edmonton; especially with all those young players and rookies. It would have made zero sense having him in Calgary... They have enough old, overpaid dudes!

that can't be true because Vincent Lecavalier is one of them, or that stat is wrong

EDIT: nevermind, he wasn't drafted #1, duh

EDIT #2: wait yeah he was

Brouwer to Ottawa for a 2nd round pick, giving them 5 that round. Could be useful when trying to trade Campbell

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

Trade Campbell then sign Richards and a few veteran grit players for the bottom 6 and you could pretty much hand the Cup to the Hawks. Nice to dream about though hah.
