Supposedly the reason is cause it's Schneider's hometown. I half believe that.

I don't buy that at all. I expected it though. No reason to ruin the guys confidence when he's been playing well. The crowd will let him hear it though.

That's why I think it's half. Cool for Schneider and don't wanna fuck up Lou. But in saying that don't treat the guy with kid gloves. If he's a real competitor he should want to face that head on. What if it's Canucks/Bruins in the final again? Lou only plays at home?

I really dont think Lou is a true competitor. If he was hed be begging to be in net tomorrow to help him forget about last year. And if Lou told Vignault he wanted to play vignault would play him. Instead I think he's actually very relieved hell be able to sit on the bench the whole game.

And with the way the bruins have been playing there might be an outside chance that they Chase schneider from the game and Lou is forced to come in. That'd be hilarious. :lol

the NHLPA shot down realignment. It won't happen next season. I'm mad and I sense trouble. This is not good in any sense.

Seems like dickhead posturing by the union, and I'm usually pro-union on these things. So help me God, if there's another lengthy lockout...

Puck hit a fan in the face at the end if NYR/PIT game. Don't see that often, hope she's okay.

Most heartless effort of the year so far from the Hawks tonight. Team defense and goalie are major concerns going forward.

Avs are 9-2 during this run. Tons of energy and a blast to watch. Severely lacking in consistency though. Watch they'll lose 5 straight after this. They could sure use a couple veteran presences in the locker room. But an awesome game tonight from everyone....

even if I'm the only one in the thread that feels that way;)

Here's my recap of the AHL Outdoor Classic game: http://flyers.thecheckingline.com/bl...-game-phantoms

I'm working on a story about Michael Leighton that I should have up tomorrow. Got to ask him a few questions after the game.

ONe reason..length of road trips. Ummm WC teams deal with this now so that's not a real reason. Another was disadvantage for playoffs. That one is valid for the two western divisions BUT I could argue it's not fair when a team like the Canes in 02 were the 8th team in points in the East had home ice advantage over teams all but 2 playoff teams.

This sucks for for Winnipeg and the SE the most. WTF? I love (actually hate) reading comments on facebook and articles saying it should just say as is. NO it shouldn't. If PHX goes to Quebec then that's an argument. But not it should not stay as is with a Central Timezone team from Canada being in the SE division. I hope the Jets do make the playoffs just to fuck with the PA while they bitch about travel.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

I heard on NHL Network last night that one of the main reasons they denied the realignment was due to not having time to do the schedule for next seasons game. I haven't looked much into that claim, or even read anything on the realignment this morning, but that seems like a load of BS. I understand that it is a big pain in the ass to have to reschedule things, but seriously?

I didn't hear that but if they said that it is total BS. Winnipeg got dates squared away in a month. The part I heard was they wanted to see how the road trips would work out in length and stuff. This is feels like the US Congress to me. Making up stupid reasons to block something just for positioning.

even Schneider said he was surprised he is getting the start and the Vancouver coach said he is keeping the reasons Luongo not starting private.

Luongo is just a bitch clearly he went to the coach and said he wanted no part of this game or the coach came to him and told him that. Plus Scheider played much better against the Bruins in the finals last year.
