Who knows what happens when carbomb and stalberg come back, but regardless, I need to just slip into a coma until friday night

Kane and Hossa have looked really good on the same line this pre-season. Hossa deserves a legit center setting him up.

I think Saad goes back to juniors when Stalberg returns or after 9 games, unless he really, really lights it up.

Saad won't see the ice for more than 9 games this season regardless of how much he "lights it up".

surprised Stall being out didn't bring us down at all. I'll take 11th, for now.

I agree. It would not be good to burn a year of his ELC, then have the kid comes back to Earth and you have to end up putting him on 4th line / healthy scratch for half the season. That would kill his development.

That said, if he puts up 4-5 goals, 8-10 pts in his first 9 games, then what? It would be pretty tough sending down someone who could potentially be an improvement over guys like Stalberg/Olesz...

I've seen them high in several places. I don't get it. Richards and Gabby need to be healthy and produce cause they are not deep up front. Richards is gonna have to QB that pp cause they have no one else to. Staal is a huge ? mark.
I know Queen Henrik, I mean King is a vezina candidate as always but I just don't see it either.

And it is not just hatred and bias against them coming thru,

Fixed it for you.

I have an incredibly hard time rating the Flyers above teams like the Canucks considering the high roster turn over from the year before. No one has any idea where these goals are coming from that they lost through their off season trades.

Bryz is one of my keepers in my fantasy league and I am concerned but as a 13th rounder, I had to keep him. I know the Flyers will be good and in the running for Atlantic but the turnover up front, Pronger's health, and increased scrutiny has me a littled worried. I hope he holds up well.

a lot of things are fucked about that list. Philly is too high, as much as it pains me to say, Vancouver should be #2 just because, but it wouldn't last long. Why the fuck are the Blues 12th? above the Preds and Lightning? and why are the Lightning 14th?

dduncan6er 10-05-2011 04:31 PM

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

I think Bryzgalov will be just fine in Philly. His numbers will probably be very solid. I just can't believe that team would be ranked 4th going into the season with the question marks they have. And Lightning 14th is nuts too. Way too low for them right now.

seriously...the Blues?

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

I am such a homer cause I said nothing about the Flyers being that high. I have them probably 12th at the lowest. The Lightning should be top ten just because of Stamkos.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

Yeah, it's crazy to put the Canucks (largely the same team, went to the SCF) below Philadelphia (large turnover, lot of questions). They could be fantastic, or they could see a big drop in the standings.

Can't wait for the games to start...

The Blues are going to be a solid team contending for a playoff spot. They might be a slot or two too high, but I'd put them right around 14/15 anyway. So it's not that much of a stretch.

I just hate them. I know they added some good pieces, and im pretty sure I put them in the 8th slot, but I can't remember. Can't wait to go down there and party for a weekend and go to the Blues-Hawks game. STL is a damn good time.

While I believe the Blues can be good if healthy they shouldn't be that high right now. They haven't proven anything yet.

Barnaby picked the Flyers to win the cup. While I don't doubt the chances of that or how good they can be, nobody knows yet and they haven't even played a game. How can you pick a team with so much change to just win it all? I don't understand that.
