But probably better because guys like Letang don't grow on trees. Add in the fact that Staal was really ever going to go to Carolina and i think a Letang deal has the makings of being big. I feel like with the right coaching, Tanger could grow into one of the best pmd in the league. He is a classic case of a guy who has the tools but is missing the tool box.

As an aside, anyone have any bold predictions for the draft? I think the pens, if a deal isnt reached by then, deal Letang. Philly moves Read for a goalie. Avs end up 'fooling' everyone and taking Jones.

:thumbsup Agree with pretty much all of this, including your assessment of Letang.

If the Avs do not select Jones, I wouldn't be surprised to see them make their deal for a d-man during the draft. Stastny would be the centerpiece I'm guessing, with guys like Letang and Phaneuf primary targets.

MAF and Malkin to BUF for Miller, Myers, Stafford, and a pick.

Well, now that the crap shortened season is over....time to move on to the first real NHL season since the lockout!

Rangers and Nucks trade coaches. Should be interesting to see who has more success!

Hope Torts can control himself in Vancouver. You might not like the media but they are just doing their jobs.

That doesn't help their cap situation. They need to go cheap and short term.

Bryz needed to get out of Philly. He just never seemed to fit there and really hasn't played well. Now that's another guy we'll have to see where he goes.

His buyout paycheck is humangous big. Gotta be one of the happiest guys in the NHL that didn't win a Stanley Cup. Laughing all the way to the bank.

Seems like Bryz would do better on a smaller market team. Send him to one of the Florida teams and watch him shine.

This assumes Holmgren uses logic when making deals. I'm basing my guess off of historical facts.

Randy Miller is a scumbag mother fucker. I've had words with him in the press box before. Fucker doesn't even understand the difference between icing and intentional offsides.

Randy Miller is the worst, so I shot him this:

@RandyJMiller, folks. True professional right there. A+ journalism. Good for you, pal.

I agree he's done stupid crap but he can't go over the cap and swapping Bryz for Lou does exactly that.

He's coming across as a huge shit right now. Reveling in someone else's misfortune just cause he's had issues with the guy.

Just reading his tweets. He sounds like a real beauty, that's for sure.

I'm thinking Bryz ends up back in Phoenix/Seattle.

Edit, just saw this;
Flyers will pay Bryzgalov approximately $1.63M each of the next 14 yrs to not play for team.

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle
Bryzgalov will end up making about $40-million for his two years for the Flyers.

I want that job. I'd deal with media shit for 2 years and $40mil.

Smith seems to want to be with Tippet too though. Was with him in Dallas as well I think so not sure how that plays out.

:thumbsup He will be one of their first signings, backing up BOBROVSKY, and they will quickly become the top goaltending tandem in the league.

I've ripped Miller in a few tweets already as well as seen a handful of bloggers and online media guys rip him apart. Most of my timeline is filled with fans destroying him. He's a piece of shit.

It's amazing that they were playing the Sabres in a closely contested playoff series just a few years ago.

Since then both of those front offices have done nothing except produce straight, liquid diarrhea.

Yup. Awesome to see people getting on him. The biggest thing taken from it is that the players will never want to talk to you now so you are hurting yourself professionally... Douche.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Also with the Bryz. He's getting $23 million over 14 years of uncapped money, which is peanuts to a franchise that makes well over that in revenue a year
