Dave Matthews, Chili Peppers set for BottleRock Napa
The Mercury News - 6 Jan 2020

"Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Nicks, Miley Cyrus, Khalid, and Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals will headline the eighth annual BottleRock Napa Valley festival, set for May 22-24 in downtown Napa."

"...getting the Dave Matthews Band on the bill had been on organizers’ todo list for some time. “Dave Matthews Band was just a matter of time,” Graham said. “The stars had to align. And they did — and it was the first headliner that we confirmed this year.”

"The festival is organized so that two headliners perform each day, appearing as the last acts on BottleRock's two biggest stages. The daily lineups and schedules will be announced later.""

Awesome lineup for this one. Anybody going to this should make sure to check out Ripe and Turkuaz. Two of the most fun live acts out there right now.

One of the better festival lineups I've seen recently

Oh this is a good one. Hopefully they do day passes. I'll be Cali around then, and could probably convince my dad to go during Stevie's day.

They usually release 1-day tix later

I stayed in SF last year and took Bottlerock's bus in to the festival last year and it was much cheaper. They offer buses from SF, Sacramento, and many other places too. Great alternative to staying in the Napa area around that weekend which is crazy expensive

Did you do all 3 days?

I wonder if that will count as the Bay Area show for 2020?

I hope not

Oh for sure it will. I can't remember a time where they played a festival show and a headline show in the same city in the same year.

Prime example in 2013, they played the Final Four show in Atlanta in April and skipped out on Atlanta for the summer tour.

Re: *** Official Bottle Rock Napa Valley 2020 ***

Yeah, but they did shows in Sac and SF this past tour

Yeah went to all three. Flew from BHM out to SFO early on Friday morning in order to get there for start of first day and catch my bus and took bus all three days. Then did some other touring around California and then flew up to Seattle and go hang with some friends out at Lake Chelan for five days after Cali. Couldn't have been a better trip. Going to try and swing it again this year

2007 - Played Live Earth, came back to NYC later that summer at Randall's Island, and came back to East Rutherford again in the fall. I'm pretty sure SF/No Cal would get another show this summer unless they skip in order to play San Diego which they skipped last year.

Yeah, I'm hoping this is a late spring one-off and we get the usual late Aug/Early Sept show. Unless they start the tour in CA this year? Although Outside Lands counted as they Bay show in the past. I really want to see a non-festival set, was hoping for 2 nights at the Greek.

I doubt there will be a Fall Tour this year, that is really the only reason they came back and played NYC.

Re: *** Official Bottle Rock Napa Valley 2020 ***

Depending on the time/radius clause, it's conceivable they could come back at the end of the tour and hit Shoreline or the Greek

If the time limit is 90 days, that would end in late August, so it's not impossible they could swing by again on the way to or from The Gorge

Not saying it's likely or unlikely, just saying it's not impossible

Also, side note for anyone thinking about going all three days, Frusciante is back in the Chili Peppers

What's strange is that the Chili Peppers are headliners for Boston Calling that very same weekend. Am I missing something here?

Sorry meant, 2018 when they skipped SD entirely - been a couple years since they played non-festival show there.
