I know this is a dumb question but how does the seeding work in this years playoffs?

I thought the division winners were going to be 1-6 and the wild cards would be 7+8?

example based off todays standings

Atlantic:
Boston vs TO
TB vs Habs

Metro:
Pitt vs CBJ
NYR vs PHL


Division winner with best record gets lowest WC and other division winner gets the other. If Boston had a better record than PIT than they'd be getting CBJ and PIT would get TO even though CBJ isn't in the ATL or TO in the Metro.

So they still haven't updated it huh? ESPN's standings used to be better because you could sort it by everything and they always had the tie breakers updated correctly. TSN took a while to update theirs too. NHL.com is the best place for it.
