Rumor of Thornton leaning towards LA. That would be interesting for sure.

I think whoever signs Alzner is gonna be a little disappointed. Dude wasn't the same this year post groin injury. Hopefully it's something he can fully work through, but it slowed him down this year for sure.

Love the guy, though.

RIP to Dave Semenko, former Gretzky bodyguard on those 80s Oilers teams.

Cancer sucks.

1. Pittsburgh
2. Nashville
3. St. Louis
4. Anaheim
5. Minnesota
6. Edmonton
7. Tampa Bay
8. Chicago
9. NY Rangers
10. San Jose
11. Washington
12. Toronto
13. Ottawa
14. Boston
15. Montreal
16. LA Kings
17. Columbus
18. Winnipeg
19. Calgary
20. Dallas
21. New Jersey
22. New York Islanders
23. Phoenix
24. Florida
25. Vancouver
26. Detroit
27. Philadelphia
28. Buffalo
29. Carolina
30. Colorado
31. Las Vegas

Again, this was off the top of my head and no real thought put into it. I am sure if I took a longer look at this list I would re-rank a few.

Clearly very little thought was put into it. #islanders :D

Sounding like Trevor Daley to Detroit is close to done. I'm scared about the term. It better be just 2 years. I might be able to live with 3 but that would be pushing it.

Kudos to Calgary for really upgrading their goaltending. Smith and Lack ain't a bad tandem.

Can you imagine if Kings get Thornton and Williams?

I'd rather Williams personally.

His wheels are close to falling off. 2 years would be ideal

And I'm ok with that. It's a stop gap for the young kids to get here. A lot of Wings fans will probably cry and wonder why but outside of their 7 D on the roster now, they don't have much after that that's ready to play in the NHL. He also gives some mobility/offense on the blueline, which after Mike Green, have none. Holland is looking to compete but improve within for the most part so I'm not worried about this taking time away from any young guys.

Sounds like Williams will be leaving the Caps now too.

Noone wants to stay there and never win anything besides Oshie :lol

I don't know if Oshie wants to stay there because they think they can win, I think his disastrous contract helped him stay

I still can't believe they gave him an eight year deal. :lol :lol :lol

I didn't see him staying. He's getting older and sure did't help the Caps much so... Plus need some money for their RFAs.

Still Oshie deal is bad in term. I can't say much, Wings have a few dumb ones.

Caps re-up Orlov. 6 yrs/$5.1 AAV. 5 team no trade clause starting in 2019-20.

Flyers apparently maybe signing Brian Elliott. Cup bound now with that combo of Elliott and Neuvirth. Stanley. Cup. Bound.

Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)

Brian Elliot to the Flyers for two years, $2.75 a year.

BoninoBoninoBonino to the Preds. Sad to see him go, but it was inevitable. Thanks for the great moments, like scoring in OT vs the Caps!!

Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)

With the Flyers going after Elliott, this leaves Stolarz as the odd man out once again. Have to think they're going to trade him. No reason for him to be stuck in Lehigh for a third season when they can get value for him. Hart has to be their longterm project now.

I'll write my opinion about the Wings other D signing when I get home. That one is a head-scratcher.

Holy shit, bad contracts everywhere.

How does Sam Gagner get $3.15 mill and Steve Mason get $4.1 mill per year? Good job Vancouver and Winnipeg.
