As for this thread, I honestly don't care who made it I just thought we all had an understanding to start a tradition within the Ants hockey community to have the fan of the team who sucked the most start the thread.

And since the Flyers are now in golf mode I guess I can talk about the Flyers. I am glad Carcillo will be gone. I know a lot of Philadelphia people will be calling for a new goaltender and they are all wrong. Bobrovsky had a hell of a rookie campaign all things considered and deserves the chance for next year. Its also hard to figure out what else to say they need because of the cap space issue. I really like our defense right now, but they are getting old and they are paid pretty well. I wouldn't mind seeing Coburn moved if we could get something good in return, but I don't know. Still there is a long time til big moves are made.

in all fairness, you cant call new jersey trashy when philly, who i root for in all 4 sports, rocks the wonderful reputation of having over a murder per day....which is the highest average in the country.

that nonsense aside, i am also extremely happy happy carcillo can GTFO, but have to admit the flyers kind of fucked themselves over as far as contracts go.

1) what were they thinking giving jody shelly three years at over 1 million? for how little he contributes, that was a stupid, stupid move that wastes cap space

2) why in gods name hartnell is earning in excess of 4 million per year is beyond me, but if he doesnt start playing the way he did against the hawks last year in the cup finals, he needs to figure out where he wants to go so we can waive his NTC and ship him out. he didnt contribute shit this post-season and the one time he had a chance to stick up for himself and his team against a physically dominating bruins team, chara literally punched him in the mouth and knocked him down until he shut up. it was embarassing to watch.

3) cobourn or carle - i feel like were gonna have to keep one and trade the other. if ths is the case, id much rater get rid of carle and keep cobourn. pronger n timmonen arent getting any younger, odonnell sucks, syvret is meh, and bartulus needs to play more before he can be accurately judged. we need defensive help badly (which, btw, i dont get how you can say youre happy with our defense after boston literally played with us at will).

4) we NEED a goalie. i dont care how poorly our team played at times, because all the other times our team played well, our goalie(s) let in easy/shitty goals that really changed the dynamic of quite a few games. Bob has a lot of potential, but after this year bouche sadly needs to find a new home. the only reason the buffalo sabres got into game 7 - the only reason the flyers didnt take game 2 - the only reason we couldnt win the cup last year - it's simply our goalies letting poor shots that should be stopped trickle in. yes the team around the goalie makes a difference. but again, if the sabres round 1 showing cant explain why a great goalie is game-changing on the playoffs, idk what will.

all in all, next years team is going to be significantly different than this years, and with all the cap were spending on guys like carter, richards, briere, pronger, timmo, (soon enough JVR), etc - were gonna have to make some moves.

Most, if not all of those come from one section of the city, are gang related, or people that know each other. It's not like there are just random killings in center city.

I have no problem with Jersey people unless they are the cast of jersey shore or try to emulate the cast of jersey shore. That being said I will continue to make fun of all things NEw Jersey in the same way that I make fun of women. I am not serious I just like seeing people get pissy.

1) Signing him after we already had Carcillo was beyond stupid.
2) Hartnell is like our Matt Cooke. Definitely does make as many questionable hits, but he is more agitator than hockey player. Also like Cooke he does have the ability to hurt you on both the offensive side and defensive side of the game. That being said he does not deserve to be making what he is making.
3) I like Carle more, but I think it is more of a personal opinion. I would like to keep both if our cap space allowed.
4) I don't care how many people say we need a new goalie, I am going to disagree each time. Bob had a hell of a rookie season and he is only 23. I feel we need to give Bob full reigns of this team and see where he takes us. One of the reasons why we never had a stud goaltender is because we don't give them a fair shake.

Braydon Coburn is going to be an excellent defenseman, boy can that guy skate. The Flyers would be fucking dumb to get rid of him considering both Pronger and Timonen are 36.

As will I contiune to take random shots at Philly and their sports teams (I will just try to be a bit less harsh and serious then I was earlier in the thread). Fun to see you all get so defensive about your reputations as I am sure it is funny to see Jersey folk get "pissy" about ours. I for one gave up the Jersey defending years ago for two reasons: 1. It will never change anyone's view on the state and 2. I want to move out! :lol (back to Boston where I lived for 6 years).

I am not defensive about the Philly rep, just that I am lumped in it :lol I honestly can say I hate a good 80% of the fan base here.

Columbus moving is being reported by the Columbus Dispatch, whoever moves to the West is speculation and rumors.

Well obviously the team moving West would be Winnepeg, but I find it hard to believe they would take the Central Division spot. They would switch with Minnesota and Minnesota would be in the Central. That's perfect for everyone if you ask me

^ my thoughts exactly. I laughed outloud when I read that. If the Thrashers leave and the Wings or Preds are the team that go East the Leafs chances get smaller. I'd be hoping for the Jackets to go or the Thrash to stay put. Although looking at the standings it'll be tough for the Leafs regardless. I mean the top 8 in the east this last year will challenge for those spots again and I'd expect the Devils to be in that battle too. Then on top of that if the Wings or Preds are there it's even tougher.

I really have no idea and I don't think anyone does since I've heard media people think Detroit, others think CBJ and others think Nashville so... Gary Bettman told the Wings they were next in line to move now does he stick to that? I'm assuming he thought it would be through expansion to Vegas, KC or Houston not relocation. Is there a difference though? Not really. I posted in the other thread about the arguments for keeping them really aren't that strong. Wings/Hawks rivalry isn't what it used to be, for Detroit anyways and the NHL didn't care about breaking up the Leafs/Wings/Hawks in the 90's so if the league does say that as a reason they'll be full of it. The other argument about selling tickets they only account for 5% of home games of teams not in the Central. Two sellouts in PHX really make a difference out of 41 games? How about you think about actual fans of the Wings instead of people in Phoenix or SoCal? I don't know if it'll happen, not confident it will but.. I just think Illitch has paid his dues and been a good owner, and voted for a cap that he didn't need or want so throw him a bone. Would be nice to have a 7 game series flying to Boston or FLA as the furthest rather than Vancouver or California.

Nashville would make sense since they can just throw them in the SE division and not have to change anything else around. I mean they could always put Columbus in the SE division too but I think Nashville makes more sense geographically.

Nashville is the easier in terms of plopping them into the SE. Detroit and Columbus make sense in term of being in the Eastern Timezone. Now not even thinking of homerism here I like the idea of the Wings moving and go to the NE. That puts them back with TO and the Habs. Boston goes to the Atlantic so that division stays good and Pit goes to the SE. You'd have 3 strong divisions imo. And I'm sure the NHL along with NBC/VS would have a boner over Crosby vs Ovie 6 times a year. "Hey boys we're adding two games to our schedule this year. Crosby and Ovie. I'm not sure what teams they're on but who care?"

There's no way Boston gets moved to the Atlantic imo. The rivalry with the Habs is just took big and there's a pretty big rivalry with TO since the Kessel trade. If anything I'd say the Wings would go to the Atlantic.

Yeah but other than playing for the division they'd still see each other 4 times a year. Not like they are switching conferences. This is why Spectors Hockey tweeted yesterday he won't even begin to guess on realignment. I mean Detroit moves and they can really be in any division although NE and even Atlantic makes most sense. CBJ could be in any of them too. Nashville would be SE.

Then out west Winnipeg is the NW no question. Then Minny could move to the central and you coould maybe try to revive the old Hawks/North Stars rivalry. Then there are some who feel because of location Minny makes more sense to stay in the NW to play Winnipeg. So the Avs would then move to the Pacific and the Stars would go back to the Central. That also makes sense.

Then I've also read one idea why do we really need 6 divisions? Other than putting a banner in the rafters it doesn't do that much. Every division has at least one good team now so the whole division champ getting a top 3 spot isn't what it used to be when the SE sucked and you were either #3 or not in the playoffs. Then you also don't have to worry about who's in what division really.

Buffalo should be in the same division as Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. That would be a good one to move the Jackets into as well if they were to move to the East

I think the Jackets end up in the SE if they move. They would fit in well with Pitt in the Atlantic but then you'd have to move Philly or one of the NYC teams which won't happen I don't think.

Yeah but you aren't going to break up the NYC teams and I don't think you'd move Philly to the SE either so who goes to the SE to ATL's place?

You are correct but the in terms of location Pitt is a natural one I think. If they move it's the SE no question in my mind because of the location of Philly and the Isles, Devils and Rangers. And it would be replacing one underachieving team for another.
