Exactly, I mean I don't know how "people waking up in St Louis as Stanley Cup Champions" isn't funny, I'm well aware what he meant and it's great for the people of St Louis that they won.

Hope the Rangers draft goes well! I'll be getting back to my responsibilities as a defending champion on the Patriots and Red Sox, maybe go to a few DMB shows over the summer where I'm playing to 20k, hope we do well

Agreed. Confetti was falling from the roof and eagles players were hugging family on the field and I was still waiting for a PI flag to come floating past the tv screen

the fact that youre still hanging on such an innocuous statement is showing your bitterness.

Youre really telling me when the Red Sox or Pats win a championship, it doesnt feel like you won? Thats like, exactly what fandom is. Youre just being crabby about some phrasing, just like the "we" thing.

Uh, no when they win I am glad they won, I don't consider myself part of the team. I'm sitting on a couch eating bbq and finger snacks in Massachusetts, I don't really feel like I'm winning or losing anything. It would be odd as hell to think I won the Super Bowl or World Series. Obviously people say "my team" or "my guy" or "my company" and it's used in a lot of ways, the quote I pointed out was just funny and didn't have "my" in it at all.

Trying to parse that "my team won" and "we won" are somehow different emotions is pretty hilarious. Its just phrasing.

this is a no for me also. 2004 Red Sox was probably the closest I came to feeling that way but I missed all of that playoff run.
