That's 2016 Stanley Cup Champion Penns! I really believe it WAS the double N thing ya'll latched onto that brought the extra mojo. So thanks again for that! |

Re: The NHL Thread
I will say I'm genuinely happy for Phil Kessel, who was taken for granted by Toronto's shitty fanbase. The rest of the team can get indigestion on bad hot dogs.

I always like when the odds for next year's champion comes out the day after this year's was won.

Re: The NHL Thread
Congrats to the Penns on winning the cup. They certainly embraced and embodied change and came together as a team to accomplish something great. Were they the best team? Probably not, but they overcame a shit leader and persevered. They took advantage of every opportunity & break and turned it into success.

Re: The NHL Thread
What is all this business of the Penns not being "the best team"? Yes. Yes they were the best team. They have 2, arguably three great offensive lines. Their D (which still had Letang, Maaata, and Daley: until injury; any of whom I would take) came together at the right time. Only place they maybe got "lucky" was in net.
The Sharks probably weren't the best team to come out of the West. But I think the Penns would have beaten anybody, sans a healthy Blackhawks team. It hurt me to type all of that. |

Dave Strader, Dallas and NBCSN play by play guy(also former Red Wings play by play), diagnosed with cancer.

Re: The NHL Thread
Personally, I would have taken Letang over Crosby. But Crosby absolutely was magnificent in the playoffs.
Now please excuse me while I barf. |
