That was a fun game. Hotly was on point. Was concerned coming into this game about a Flyers 1st round matchup. Not anymore. Took Flyers a deflection and surviving 3 posts for Flyers to win.

Also super surprised Philly media gave Holtby a star

Flyers will easily take down Caps in the first round.

Am I missing something? Caps dominated that game....we we're watching the same game, right?

Not really sure with what logic....Caps 2-0-2 against Flyers this year

If the Caps dominated the game then why was the score only 2-1 good guys?

I was using your logic....which makes no sense at all.

Re: The NHL Thread

Brohan is probably going to mention the three posts Caps players hit tonight.

Does Brohan know that 2-0-2 and 2-2 are the same, right?

That's a .500 record

3 posts...outside the first 5-8 minutes of the 2nd period, Caps handled that game with a lot of confidance. Caps win that game 8 out of 10 times.

Caps were missing that fire to put in the dagger when game means literally nothing

More on Keith, he is going to have a player safety meeting - cannot guess how this will turn out for him.

Maybe not, Flyers playing into a higher seed at this point

It's so GD insane the turn around the Ducks put on this year. If they melted down and fired BB they would not be in the position they're in now

No, I don't think so. There's still a debate as to who will be third in the Atlantic but I don't think we're going to be catching the Islanders or the Penguins.

Bruins/Wings/Isles/Flyers, non of them scare me as a first round opponent. Non of those teams have a goalie that can catch fire enough to stop Caps. *Maybe* Mrazek if he can find it again but he's lost his magic from earlier in the year.

Um, Steve Mason?

Um, Stanley Cup winner Tuuka Rask?

Pretty sure Flyers fans last week (or two weeks ago) were saying that Nuevy was better than Mason.

And Rask is not even a shell of the shell he used to be

Yes, dumb Flyers fans who think every goal that goes in is only due to the direct fault of the goaltender.

Shitty night of work made better by the results of this game. Brohan thanks for being you

Re: The NHL Thread

Probably old news to some of you, but I just saw a tweet from a couple weeks ago saying that Jaromir Jagr has about 20 more career points than the entire current Maple Leafs roster(1,856 to 1,826). Simply obscene.

The Caps did play pretty well last night. Brohan's not wrong about that. Holtby seems to be finding his game again. Thank god

Let's also keep in mind every single line last night had played 0 games together this season

Not trying to overshadow the point of your post (since I agree with it), but Tim Thomas was the goalie for the Bruins that playoffs. Rask only played a limited role.

Watching that game to me told me two things.

1) The Flyers wanted it more and played that way.

2) The Caps still almost beat them while not even playing to their 100% best.

I would take the Caps over the Flyers in the first round. It would go 6 maybe 7 though.

Talbot is awesome. There were a lot of Rangers fans that wanted him to stick around. Even some crazy ones that actually believed it was time to move on from Hank and that Cam was next in line for us.

Obviously that was crazy talk, but the point still remains that Talbot can play as long as he has a small hint of defense in front of him. I am not even sure Quick or Hank would be able to do much with the defensive situation in Edmonton.
