Will be my first time at the venue. How’s traffic/parking/tailgating?

Good luck with that shit. Holmdel was already an overcrowded mess without the 2 more popular NJ shows being cancelled.

Glad Holmdel is back, but hopefully we won’t get another 1 song encore!

The lawn looks decent here.
Debating about taking my kids. Any advice on the venue?

Knowing there's a curfew, maybe they could start the show a little earlier.

Nice venue with a good crowd. Parking lots can be a pain to get in and out of, but not a bad place to take your kids to.

If youíre coming from the north, park in lot 3 as close to the exit as possible. Thereís a ramp that goes right to the Garden State Parkway northbound. Only thing is you have to walk a little further, but itís worth it.

We’re considering Holmdel this year too. We’re already heading up to SPAC from NoVa, so we thought leave earlier in the day and see another show...almost a no brainer. We’d also have our boys and if we didn’t lock them in a hotel :D this would be their third DMB show.

Re: *** Official Holmdel NJ 2020 ***

The only downside of Holmdel is it could sound better. It's a bit echoy. It sounded awful in 2018, but I think that was more of a speaker issue and not the venue.

Cool take, bro.

Holmdel sells 10x better than Camden. Camden n1 last year was awful crowd wise.

Wait, so bad show for the kids and the lawn? At least this year given the lack of Camden...?

Lot 3 I believe puts you right on the parkway north. Not too sure about south but could always bang a U at the first exit. As long as you get there early enough, claim a spot down near the bottom corner and you're golden getting out.

Friend of mine is trying to get tix on the presale tomorrow and is asking for a code. I have absolutely no idea if there is one to give to him or if you must be a citi member to get a unique code. But if anyone knows of a code he can use please feel free to share. Thanks!

Looking for hotels and Hazlet seems like the closest town. Easy area to get to venue from and then back after the showl?

I personally think the uppers at Holmdel range from really good to pretty good in the 300s. I think its comparable to having far back lowers or good uppers at Camden if you've been there before.

However the 400 level is a bit further back, comparable to the worst uppers at Camden. You're under the roof and you have a seat which is nice, but there's no way the 400 level should cost the same as the front row in this venue.

There are some really great lawn spots on the left and right that are pretty isolated if you want to be away from the crowds with your kids. Theres also two "decks" for the price of a lawn ticket that are standing room, with a few chairs, that has its own bar and overlooks the seats. Its pretty awesome because there is staff there so people can't get out of control.

Iím a 2010 member so hoping that gets me at least in the 300s.

Been in the last row in the pavilion in Camden before and even those werenít horrible. Just anything to avoid lawn.

I've got an AirBNB on Staten Island, will probably take the train as far as I can and Uber the rest of the way. Is traffic a nightmare around the venue? Better to have the Uber drop us off 3-4 blocks away?

Yep exactly...if you're okay with last row at Camden then whatever Warehouse gives you will be okay for Holmdel (the lawn can get especially packed here too, so any seat is a plus). The Citi presale didn't have many 302 or 303 tix available so I'm hopeful that's the Warehouse allotment!

I've never noticed traffic being an issue, but I also tend to arrive an hour or two before showtime which may help? (So 6-6:30 pm arrival for when they hit the stage at 8:15).

Having said that, if you're taking the train there's a shuttle that takes you to the venue:

"The PNC Bank Arts Center has its very own shuttle services. This can be located by taking the NJ Transit to the Aberdeen/Matawan train station and get on the free PNC Bank Arts Center Shuttle to come to the show!"

source: http://banksartscentre.com/pnc-bank-...enter-parking/

Edit: I'm not sure how feasible "getting dropped off 3-4 blocks away" is. The venue is right off of the Parkway with its own exit ramp. Perhaps there's backroads behind the venue I'm not aware of, but I would imagine any uber would be using the Parkway to take you there.

Shuttle would be a way better option anyway! Thank you for the info, very much appreciated! :D

I'm not sure if there's an "exact" time that lots open....its a very unusual venue for parking. There are VIP parking spots near the entrance but IMO they're harder to get out of once the show empties out and therefore not worth it. All other lots are free and pretty close to the Parkway entrance ramps (albeit with a 10 minute walk from the venue).

But to answer your question, I've been there as early as 3pm and the free lots were open if that helps.

This is an old Ants post with a helpful map regarding PNC parking:

https://antsmarching.org/forum/attac...3&d=1433950040

I almost always park in those 3 lots to the south of the venue, but I've also parked in Lot 3 and had easy in/easy out experiences before. In general when it comes to parking I wouldn't sweat it at Holmdel, it's always been really easy and straightforward.
