Special shout out to ABC during the Stanley Cup Finals as I thought Sean McDonough, Ray Ferraro and Emily Kaplan did a fine job calling the action and the production team were magnificent. The closing montage with all of the NHL teams in the 2021-2022 playoffs to "Teenage Wasteland" is worth going out of your way to seeing if you missed it.

Here's an article on Emily Kaplan from The Athletic.

Remember way back when the Avs won the Cup the other day? That was cool. I liked that.

Sean McDonough definitely did a great job, he’s a true professional. Guy can call anything and make it exciting without being over the top.

Fucking roasted.

Also, I was referring to how highly touted Makar was going into the 2017 draft and how some Flyers beat writers said the Flyers missed on Makar when Philly was eying Patrick or Hischier. I've been banging my head over that whiff in the draft for the last 5 years.

Thanks for doing the work for us. I thought about just posting something like "fonzz41, the man, the myth." yesterday. But I never got around to it. I was deciding if I wanted to take the time to do the work that you did. :lol

I just wanna know how the fuck you guys remember who posts what on this boards and when. I couldn't recall like 99% of the shit said in this thread other than Brohan not knowing what a hat trick is.

Gus Johnson was great until he became a meme of himself. But I do miss him calling March Madness games. That over the top lunacy matches the tone of that tournament perfectly.

Injuries coming out of todays exit interviews:

McDonagh - mangled finger in ECF
Cirelli - AC joint sprain in both shoulders
Hagel - fractured foot
Bellemare - meniscus before playoffs
Paul - MCL sprain in Final
Kucherov - MCL sprain in Final
Perry - shoulder joint sprain in ECF
Point - torn quad muscle

Yup. Sounds about right.

McD tired and old as compared to his Ranger days.

I’m down

We did not get to boo Bettman, which is our right as Cup winners

How does that compare to the expected injuries number?

With xI taken into account, we won the Cup.

Ambulance boat parade will be this weekend.

I will be curious to see the Avs final injury report, too. I know Burkovsky was playing on a broken ankle but had a broken thumb, too. Nichuskin's foot was kinda shattered.

Hockey players are tougher than me, lol.

Avs are still the champs, btw

Just in case you wanted a reminder :)

During the Stanley Cup playoffs, Bednar says Darcy Kuemper had to go to optometrist 2-3 times a day to "re-train his eye".

Other injuries:

Val - broken foot
Burky - broken foot/thumb
Kadri - broken thump
Girard - broken sternum
Helm - abnomimal tear

Damn right! In my team meeting at work I just excused everyone so they can attend the rally & parade tomorrow if they'd like. It's going to be glorious!

Jealous. I would absolutely go if I were in Colorado.

I wonder if there will be a live stream I can watch

Not sure about a livestream. If I hear of one I'll post it.

You guys know this stuff is used across many sports right? Like soccer has expected goals.

I get analytics in some cases, but this expected goals stat is just a fun way for losers to say, “Well we played well enough to score this many goals!!”

What does a soccer analytic say about a 0-0 draw? “Manchester United really outplayed them, they should have scored 1.2 goals!” GTFO.
