You guys beat up down in December in Washington so payback is fair. What I do not get is how the Hawks have a pattern this year of playing solid against good teams yet find ways to lose against the fairly lousy teams. Frustrating.

Glad the Wings lost in regulation. They aren't making the playoffs so finish as low as possible. Doesn't guarantee anything but that helps your chances in the future more than winning does now. I'm happy to see them competing and not giving up knowing the season is over but still want them to lose. Time to trade away. Nyquist, Glendenning, Green and a goalie could all be gone in a week.

Me too, buddy. Even as frustrated as I was though, still always a treat to watch Connor go to work.

EJ going down was rough. Just have to keep telling myself that a winning record wasn't even expected for the Avs this year. Gotta be proud of the strides they've made, even if they don't make the playoffs this season.

Caps add Michal Kempny from the Hawks for a 3rd round pick. He is not really going to wow anyone but he will provide a solid guy on probably your third pairing. He is pretty quick, he moves the puck well, he is good in board battles and he has a pretty accurate and hard shot from the point. I doubt he will see much time on special teams and his defense is shaky at times but I think Holtby can cover up for that much better than Forsberg, Glass or Berube did. It is not a big move at all but by giving up next to nothing and you add a durable guy on the bottom end of your D but I doubt he would be resigned by the Caps considering his cap hit this season was nearly a million bucks. Trade probably helps both teams, Caps could use an extra D man to eat up ice time and the Hawks have too many D men so probably a win win for both teams.
