I'm so glad boucher is getting blasted for this right now. I cannot stand that guy.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Guy Boucher should have never quit making Bond movies.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
And boucher has waaaay too big of an ego to switch out of the system even though the flyers aren't moving the puck.

Guess I missed the whole 1-3-1 stand-off because when I turned it on the two teams were too busy exchanging penalties. Really impressed with the Flyers so far this season. |

:lol Hard not to be impressed with him, though. The production of Couturier and Jagr has to be a bit of a surprise with how great they are both playing. Flyers offensive lines look really dangerous. |

I love a good defensive struggle.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
That standoff is one of the weirder things I've ever seen in a hockey game.

Glad I didn't watch it.

The other thing that I think the owners will buy into is that this leaves the door open for league expansion whenever the time is right. I don't necessarily think expansion is the right thing to do, but its more money gained for the league if it happens. I think this might be the happy medium that a lot of teams will buy into. |

The schedule makes it fair pretty much across the board though. Teams like Detroit and Columbus are going to LA or Vancouver just as much as New York or Boston. Plus the playoffs would be great for the Western teams. SJ's not going to Detroit or Chicago in the first rounds and Detroit and Chicago aren't going out there either. While some people might not like Philly leaving the NY teams you can't please everyone. You kinda have to make a choice Pitt or NYC? I like the divisions in the East. It keeps NYR, NYI and NJD together and it keeps the SE teams together. The other one keeps the Canadian teams together along with Boston/Mont, Boston/Philly, BUF/TOR and of course Philly/Pitt. Washington might like Pitt not being in theirs too. I wasn't thinking expansion like you but I was thinking it sure leaves the door open for moving the Coyotes to the East if they don't sell. |

I had heard the expansion thing tossed around a few times in the media and having that imbalance leaves the door open for a number of options between teams moving or new teams starting. Moreover, if any new teams were started in the western regions, Detroit, Columbus, or Nashville could seamlessly move into the east. |

Heading to my first Bruins game of the year tonight. Pretty excited to see the young talent on the Oilers.

It will be very disappointing if the Hawks can't beat Steve Mason and the Jackets tonight.

Stalberg is an idiot and this PK is horrible.

Stalberg just has ZERO hockey IQ. Not suited to really play on any line on this team. He has speed but no hands, no smarts, no defense. Time to call up Smith or Morin to replace him. Sure he's not the main problem but he really adds nothing.
