I must have missed something... down 6-3 in a hockey game and it's all of a sudden a problem to put in your checking line? How dare Dan Bylsma... That hit by Vitale was 100% clean too, what a bastard.

And I didn't see this posted on here, but I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this.....

The people our age never quit on the Pens. We were the standing in line to get student rush tickets when the team was shit. The bandwagon Pens fans are the older generation. Unfortunately, those are the only people who can afford to go to games, which has hurt the atmosphere in the building.

Right? My favorite argument I've seen all day was the "How dare Asham go after Schenn?!?!!!?!" Dude cross-checked Crosby after a goal, time to man up... he had to know that eventually he was going to get his, and this was that opportunity. That's how hockey is.

From an entertainment perspective, a first round match up with the Pens is going to be glorious.

The problem is that I don't think that the winner will emerge with enough healthy bodies to have a legit shot at the Cup

i can agree with this, its going to be a war, that in the end, no matter who wins, that team is going to have a tough time in round two. its a shame, because imo, these two are probably the best two in the conference.

also, im not sure home ice is going to matter much. the pens cant beat the flyers in their own house, and the flyers struggle at home.

Rangers with a perfect start so far.

I agree that's its four teams ( rangers, Pitt, Philly, bruins) with the devils as a threat. It will be interesting to see if any team bucks the trend of the regular season in a playoff series. Rangers own Philly, Boston. Philly handles Pitt.

I think bryzgalov coming back will be interesting to watch as it will have been a while since he last played and was finally heating up.

I hate pointless arguments by dumb people and hate the fact that shit gets blown out of water because its between Philly and Pit. Both clubs are playing phenomenal hockey down the home stretch of the regular season and will be a tough out for anyone, even after the winner survives what is looking to be a war of a first round series. I respect Pit fans and Philly fans for the most part, but today has been nothing but a joke from people on both sides.

I also have no problem with the hit on Briere. 100% clean. Don't think it was a problem that Pens put out their checking line either, I guess. But the fact that they didn't play for 12 minutes is a bit odd--plus, you just knew they were looking to stir the pot. The Briere hit just happened to be the catalyst for it. Oh well.

Dude came back to play the last period with a sprained MCL. I don't think you can call him a pussy. All I ask is for him to shut his damn mouth and not constantly complain to the officials--or if he's going to slash, take runs at someone, to at least properly defend himself for repercussions.

I find it funny that all Pittsburgh wants to whine about is the semi-cross-check on Crosby ( which he helped embellish ) but they don't say anything about crosby hitting Schenn (with no puck around) 5 sec before that

Bobby Clarke would have broke the stick with his back.

Just like Crosby breaking his stick when he slashed Voracek across the thighs .... but apparently that's not a penalty

All hockey players in all games get away with stuff. Star players and non star players. Go Flyers.

lollertastic.

I wonder about this myself. Briere does this as well but Flyers fans freely acknowledge it....

Does this mean we are going to bring back Cindy Crybaby for Round 1? :bounce

I don't get it at all. It was a hard-nosed game the whole afternoon. In the context of the game, there really wasn't anything that really upset me. I just don't understand how some Pens fans refuse to acknowledge that their players contributed anything to the final scrum of the game.

In all seriousness, how great was Hartnell taunting the Hulk wannabe?

I'm just really excited we get to see another Flyers-Pens playoff series.

The animosity between posters is what makes this thread so great. I love you all.

Except Joe.

I really hate Joe now--again.

I see Sid doing it, just like all the stars do. That's why I don't have a problem with it. Don't see the Pens as a whole acting like the Flyers.

I guess this is what I don't understand. If you point to an incident in the game today that a Flyers play did I'm pretty sure I'd be able to point to the exact same thing that a Pens player did at some other point in the game.

Wish the rangers clinched tonight. Oh well.

As for pens flyers, I'll be rooting for seven games, but I'll also be watching. Pens I think are just the more talented team on the ice but the flyers have shown their first line is as potent as any this year and have gotten so much play from rookies who have shown they aren't going to shy away in crunch time.

I think the difference will be of bryzgalov comes back like the guy he was in march or if he ends up lost in the woods like november-February.

Did you see Byslma break a stick and climb around the bench partition?

Weren't we talking about players? I assume you agree with my original comment since you weren't able to cite an example that happened on the ice...

Like I said, if you respond to the Flyers you stoop to their level. If you ignore them, they call you a pussy. Only way to shut them up is to beat them in the playoffs, which someone has managed to do for 37 years.

I remember when the Flyers passionate fans almost caused the Flyers to go bankrupt and head to Las Vegas

Dont fault the penguins for having a shitty owner that ran the team into the ground. It had nothing to do with fans. Btw, just about everyone, giroux included whines to the refs, but only crosby gets that rep. Its retardly dumb.

Crosby cried to the judge to make sure the team stayed. Malkin may have slew footed someone too.

Look at me I am going to bitch about a team being a bunch of goons when in all honesty I have only seen maybe 2 of their games all season.

/pens argument

The Flyers reputation is far exceeding them here this year.
