Unfortunately for the Stars they are extremely weak after their top line. If Getz/Perry & Benn/Seguin match-up and neutralize one another, then the Stars are in bad shape because Anaheim has a huge edge in forward talent.

I agree. After 84 and 79 points for Seguin and Benn, respectively, the next highest point getter is Goligoski (a defenseman!) with 42 points. Next after that is 35 (Chiasson). No other player besides Benn and Seguin topped 20 goals.

Obviously, it's not all about goals and points. The Stars play a strong team game under Ruff. They work well together and rely on the good chemistry they've developed. Teams like that tend to have success in the playoffs. But I think they just won't have quite enough for the Ducks.

are the jackets starting any of these games against the Pens up 1-0? Or was that just a one time deal?

They should get that extra goal since the Pens get 7 home games.

Tim, please.

There can be 18,499 Pens fans there and the cannon will still only go off after BJ goals.

Now completely unrelated to the Bruins, anybody else here think Dallas will be the big upset in round 1? I have this feeling they're knocking out the Ducks.

Watching game 6 of the '12 Final. Forgot how badly LA smacked the Devils in that one

Can you imagine watching your team go up 6-1 on home ice with 3 minutes left between you and the Cup? What a god damn thrill that must be

I was able to see 4-1 on the Caps in 98 and that was pretty good. :)

See, it's stuff like this that makes me love (and sometimes hate, mostly because of my team affiliation) this great sport of ours. I ache to feel that

I was at game 3 of that series but couldn't get into game 4. Probably a good thing all things considered

I will say this though, if by some stroke of luck the Caps are ever in a position to win a Cup, I WILL be there. I don't care if the game is on Mars. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I was just watching it on TV

My dad and tried in 97. Were walking around downtown hoping we'd find somebody selling. The price that people were paying though...wasn't gonna happen. I remember hearing $5k to be rink side. Even though I'd take nose bleeds, those would have a shit ton too.

In 98, I was at Joe Louis with 20,000 people watching it on the big screen. Even though it wasn't a real game, that was one hell of an experience.

I've always wondered what that was like. They always show it when a road team is about to win and it always looks absolutely incredible. Still, I think I'd rather be on the road at the game in person. But that must be surreal.

So was I the only one not aware that CNBC is doing playoff game this year? Allowing every single first round game to be broadcast nationally??

That's so wonderful

They've done it the last few years actually. I'm happy that when I moved in 2012 that I got Comcast so now I get CNBC in HD. I didn't during the 2012 playoffs and you just can't watch hockey in SD.
