I was thinking that. 2 points was huge. Yeah it's December but teams were gaining. That's what I expected to see Alfie doing when the Wings signed him. Hope he keeps it up.

World Jrs - anyone else watching? Sounds like the Swedes are the early favourites. Canada just had a pre-tourney win against Finland. Came back to win 4-2 after going down 0-2 early.

I'm happy for the time difference otherwise I wouldn't see the NHL the next 2 weeks. It's a Canadian thing no doubt, but this tourney is like a right of passage up here. No matter the hour you must wake up on Boxing day for the first game. The excitement and passion in these games is exponentially more than the NHL offers, for my buck.

That is true about the passion. The gold medal game will probably be on in the morning again so I'd probably watch that. However nothing topped that game from 2010 between the US and Canada and I didn't even watch it cause I didn't get the NHL Network back then. Just watching it unfold on twitter and then the highlights the next day. Damn.

Wings get DeKeyser back Saturday. Helm should be back Monday and Nyquist could be back next week sometime. Zetterberg back on the 28th. Still missing Abby (although should be back soon), Franzen and Weiss. Amazing over the next 8 days they could get 5 guys back and still be missing Franzen, Weiss and Howard.
