It's funny that you listen to WIP. Those guys are pathetic nowadays.

I'm a Leafs fan so feel free to laugh. I'll back out and keep reading as always. Doesn't take away from the fact that this thread is much nicer to read without so many Blackhawk fans.

My CFs were LA over Detroit and Pittsburgh over Boston before the season started.

I will absolutely agree with the bolded though. It's why I bumped the Blackhawks thread, to try to clean it up and get people posting in there.

You don't have to back out. I'm sure there is plenty of Leafs history since their last Stanley Cup you can talk about.

I think before the season started I had Chicago over Detroit and Washington over Buffalo, or maybe Pittsburgh. I had Washington v Chicago though

I had Phoenix vs New Jersey in the SCF.

This is not true.

Yeah don't leave. We need some more teams. It's mainly Philly, Pit and Chicago and then me, one crazy Avs fan and only a couple of regulars who are Rangers and Bruins fans. Quite surprised we don't have more Rangers and Bruins fans in here on a regular basis honestly though with how many DMB fans are in the NE.

I love reading this thread, but haven't kept up with hockey as much in the last few years since I've been out of North America for most of the last ten years. Hockey is and will always be my favourite sport. My hometown is Vancouver so I route for them too, which I know will not be popular around here. But I grew up in Toronto as a kid going to Maple Leaf Gardens. Growing up in the 80's and 90's I watched a ton of hockey. My family lives in Phoenix now and although they have a good team I don't think they deserve to keep a team!

Better than Mike and Mike in the morning, and regardless, you didn't refute the point I was making.

Anyway, go Kings. At this point knowing that the Flyers brass would be watching Richards and Carter hoist a Cup in another city will be fucking hysterical.

Having grown up there, do you think it's as tough a city to play for as Bobby Lou's made it out to be, in terms of pressure from the fans? Or is he really just as soft as we all make him out to be?

My family has lived in Phx for 15 years. Sadly, I've seen a lot of games there. Its pathetic. Phoenix has the worst sports fans of any city I've ever lived! No such thing as a Coyotes fan! They give away tickets to the playoffs! They don't deserve a team!

I gotta agree there. I know this is putting a label on a whole group based on some but man they are some over-defensive fans. Anyone who even questions if a team can survive there they get all pissy. After I commented on some facebook thing about how like half the crowd there during the Wings and Yotes series in 10 and 11 were Wings fans one actually messaged me and was like how could you say that it wasn't close to half. Oh yeah cause that matters when there are literally thousands of visiting fans who take over your building during the playoffs.

Well if this team does stay I'm interested to see what the turnout is in Oct-December before all the snowbirds get down there. No excuses of ownership anymore and no excuses about the team not being good. 3 straight playoffs and at least a trip to the WCF's you better prove there are enough of you now.

Its probably worse than he makes it out to be! Honestly, it is worse pressure than any city and any sport I've ever seen! I'm not making excuses. Hes a bitch. But that city is more mental for hockey than anything I've ever seen outside of Europen or South American football. He cant handle it. Time to move on! I have 9 year old girl cousins who know his every stat. Win or leave. Thats Canadian hockey.

I'll refute your point once you show me the articles saying the Flyers are Cup contenders this year before the season.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

I was just thinking about the Kings and their shot at the SCF, and I see two big advantages:

1) Rest. As we've already mentioned. They've only played NINE games so far in the playoffs. Wow. Wow.

2) SCF experience. This wasn't something I'd thought about until I was looking at their depth chart this morning. Williams, Scuderi, and Penner have all won the Cup. Carter, Richards, Jarrett Stoll and Matt Greene have all played in the Finals. Anyone else I'm missing? You can never have enough SCF vets on your team.

Wow, thanks for the insight. :thumbsup

But I have to agree with the bolded. He's getting paid millions of dollars to be able to handle the pressure. No excuse.

Gagne was in the Finals too and ECF's with TBL last year.

Hell thinking about it, this guys had a pretty good 3 years in terms of team success huh? Cup Finals in 10, ECF's last year and now at least WCF's this year.
