Joel Quenville, "We're all very angry today."

Hossa ruled out for tomorrow, no status changed from last night, that's the only update on him. Rookie Brandon Saad likely to go in his place.

STFO Washington. Whenever it's YOUR player that's getting suspended, people cry. But when someone else is the aggressor, they want justice.

They've been whining the whole series. Hunter actually has their fans believing that the Bruins are targeting Backstrom's head and trying to concuss him. It's an absolute joke.

Yea, Saad skated with the team today.

Right, that doesn't necessarily mean he was playing with them though. Q could have not felt confident about it and went with someone like Hayes, Morin, etc. who has seen more time with the team in regular games.

Outside chance, but in the post practice interviews they basically confirmed that Saad will be taking his place.

Gotcha. I had just heard he skated this morning. Hopefully he can contribute right out of the gate. :thumbsup

Jonathan Toews on Raffi Torres: "He probably doesn't feel bad about it at all. That's not hockey to me. They lose that guy and take out one of our best players ... that's a pretty good trade for them."

The Caps home broadcasting station is accusing Patrice freakin Bergeron of being a dirty player. This is gold. :lol

THANK YOU JOHNNY TOEWS!!!! This is the kind of stuff that needs to be said publicly. And it needs to be said by Toews type guys.

The great thing about Toews speaking up is that people listen. Partly because he's a superstar, partly because he's respected and respectful, and partly because he rarely speaks up... so when he does, ears perk up. Wouldn't have the same effect if a blabbermouth said something. It's like when Roenick talks, I don't even listen anymore. But if Johnathan Toews cares enough about something to speak up, hell yeah I'm listening.

Probably the least dirty player on Boston's roster.

Glad these pros are obviously listening to us :). Thanks for posting, this is just what's needed. Hopefully this motivates more players to make a statement as well.

I think theres a problem, like McDonald said, that there seems to be a divide between players. You get the guys that say "that's hockey" like Torres, etc. that honestly believe that what they are doing is part of the game. Cooke believed it for years until he nearly sent a guy to his grave.

Then you have guys like Toews, McDonald, etc. who have experienced the headaches and the problems that go along with these concussions. They need a unified voice to go through the NHLPA and find a way to negotiate during the CBA an end to all this.

:thumbsup Bringing up Matt Cooke is a great point. How has he been before and after his 10 game suspension last season? Completely changed. In that case, a lengthy suspension seemed to do its job. Not a $2500 fine, not a one game rest. TEN games.

10 games + 7 in the first round of the playoffs. And he deserved every bit of that suspension. There is no erasing what he did, but to his credit he adjusted, and his actual hockey skills are showing through this year. Send the message.

If Cooke can do it anyone can.

He has been fantastic for the Pens this year.

Right, that's what is so frustrating about guys like Carcillo, Torres, etc. It's not like they don't have the skill, THEY DO, they just are goons before they are hockey players.

When Carcillo plays on his game, he's a good hockey player, he just causes way too many headaches on top of that.

We're starting to agree a little too much and be a little too kind for my liking, especially during the playoffs...

So just to make things clear:
Blackhawks blow
Pens suck
Flyers are a bunch of pussies

I hate you all.

We'll all be ten shots in after the first intermission.

EDIT: I forgot Fleury was playing. Make it the first ten minutes of the game.

Pavel Datsyuk on illegal hits: "Look, you can write any rule you want. But everything is caused by something else. Everything depends on us, on hockey players. It depends on how we treat each other, how much respect we show each other."
