I honestly haven’t paid much attention. Why was that only Keith’s second goal of the year? Did he miss a lot of time?

Couldn't figure out the sign in for NHL. Otherwise I would play. I tried to reset the password twice and both times failed. Oh well.

No, he has actually not missed a single game this year. No doubt it has been a tough year for him in terms of scoring goals. I think the Hawks lousy season has impacted that a bit but the almost complete turnover of the Chicago D corps has not helped him at all - he role has changed a bit due to that because he is mentoring guys like Rutta, Oesterle, Murphy, Kempny, Hillman, Franson, Forsling and Gustafsson. He has taken on more of a stay at home defenseman attitude this year allowing the other D men to shoot more from the point and pinch while he sticks back a bit to limit odd man rushes. Add in a shaky goaltending situation since Crawford went down and his value on D increases even more since he is a veteran. I believe the Hawks power play is bottom 3 in the league so he is not getting chances there either. Chicago's system has changed a bit too, they are not shooting from the points anywhere near as often as they used to so the guys like Toews Anisimov or Saad who are good at screening a goalie are not getting there when lanes are open to shoot. Lastly, he has just had some bad luck with drawing iron or having his shots tipped in by teamates which may have gone in anyhow.

If you take into context that Seabrook and Rutta share the lead for goals by D men at 6 each 2 is not that bad. Also worth noting is that him and Seabrook have been the backbone of that defense stopping a helluva lot of good scoring chances. I do not think it is a stretch to say if he was not on Chicago they'd probably have 5 more losses because he does things that save goals, just look at last night when he kept that puck out of the net by sheer will and smart positioning - aka he made sure no review could see where the puck actually was because his skate was on top of it. Yeah, it has been an off season for him but this year it has been an off season for every member of the team not named DeBrincat or Foster. He is getting older and his production is dropping but he is a solid defenseman and I think once the newbies learn the system he will bounce back and start getting more assists and goals. 126 playoff games since 2009 might be catching up with him so having a summer to train and and relax might not be the worst thing on the planet for him.

Lastly, if the cap was not an issue would any team not want a workhorse like him on their team going into the playoffs where experience helps and lord knows he has played in some huge games and excelled.

There are a lot of Russians in the NHL and as for interference, is anyone here sure what constitutes goaltender interference these days? :lol

God damn, I’m so proud of Dustin. Hat trick tonight (still a period left), puts him at 60 pts which ties his career high in points. He has played his best hockey this year.

Annnnnd Dustin gets his 4th of the night in OT. Unbelievable.

He had such a good play to get the puck back beforehand too.

Amazing scene in Vancouver as the Sedins combine for the OT winner against Arizona in their final home game. Mugged by their teammates like they just scored the cup winning goal. Even more, all the Coyotes stayed on the ice and held an impromptu handshake line with just the twins. Very cool.

As I’ve watched the Avs over the last 10 games or so, it’s become increasingly clear to me that they are not ready for the playoffs yet. If they make it, great. They will get swept by the Preds but at least they made it. If they don’t (and what I’m saying is maybe they shouldn’t), it will still be a successful season for them and they will have learned important lessons, albeit the hard way.

Wow I guess I didn’t realize exactly how jumbled the middle of the metro is. With one game left for all teams involved, Caps/Pens first round isn’t that far fetched at this point

Also just realized the Avs and Blues close the season against each other. That game may carry a little weight, eh Matty?

I am in for the playoff bracket! I had to create a new account because it would not resolve the issue with my old one.
