Why so all country singers for the anthems? Hockey does not equal country.

Do any of your wives need a wife? Lemme know, I can take one off your hands.

You’re great man, I hope you have a wonderful day with the family.

Pretty sure the great state of Utah frowns upon that, bae

Can't see the link on Tapatalk. The Jersey orange is definitely more neon than the refs. You'll see more orange or on a bench shot or when they aren't flashing the incandescents

Yeah, the neon is just awful on ice.

You’re a sweetheart, thank you. I’ll let the ladies know, but I’m just not sure they could live without me. ;)

This weekend made me hate Marchand even more, which I didn’t think was possible.

I am sick of his antics now. He deserved that 5 games and I actually think he should have gotten more. Needs to clean up his game. Play the rat all you want, I'm fine with that. But the stupid suspensions just aren't necessary. I think he's been suspended & fined a combined like 8 times or something. C'mon man!

Agreed, he is a grade A jackass who makes most of the other assholes in the league look likable. Loved it when Johnny Hockey tripped him and the crowd was cheering!

You guys sure know how to make a man cry. Thank you.

And I'm in total agreement that Marchand should not have been eligible to play in the ASG. He's having a great time messing around and enjoying the spotlight in Tampa, while Marcus Johansson is home nursing a concussion. Just doesn't seem right.

Very sad to see Jags go back to the KHL, but very honored to have gotten to watch him play. One of the best personalities in the sport in the past 25 years.

On another topic, what're the Olympic eligibility rules for NHL play this season? Was it just somebody on a roster at all this year? On an active roster as of the opening ceremonies? Could we see Jags in the olympics this year?!

Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)

I'll never forget my first time seeing Jagr in person. The season after he played for Philly when he was with Boston, the Flyers hosted the Bruins. Jagr got done playing a pretty grueling game. As the reporters went down to the locker room and the coaches conference room, in the hallway was Jagr, doing fucking lunges and some ridiculous post-game workout. Seeing that work ethic up close made me understand why he's done this thing professionally for roughly 30 years. He's a machine.

A side takeaway from that moment too was right next to Jagr was Zdeno Chara on a stationary bike. Seeing a 6-foot-8 man on a normal-sized stationary bike was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Looked like a giraffe on workout equipment :lol

Good thing the preds have a damn solid PK because they take way too many penalties.

An article says the Hurricanes owner is considering bringing back the old Whalers jersey for select home games. To which, I say bravo, good sir!

Anyone ever been to a Hurricanes game? I am thinking about eventually doing it because its only like 3 hours away (compared to 6 for Philly) and it would be nice to see a different rink

No, but this is the time to do it. The new owner just had everyone come down from the upper level to fill the lower level bowl. He's trying different things to bring more excitement and atmopshere there.

Yes, I was at the Hurricanes vs Canadiens game on December 27th of this season. The PNC Arena is pretty nice. We sat in the upper bowl in the "Fan Zone." They seem to have a pretty solid fanbase. Not sold out or anything, but they have fans.

You should also note that they share a parking lot with the NC State Football stadium, so there is a lot of parking. Take note of where you park because it is easier than it looks to get turned around.

Hmm, maybe it was mostly Habs fans the night I was there :lol

The "fan zone" definitely had fans that go to every game though!

I'm sure you looked already but they're at Carolina on Tuesday and then again on Saint Patrick's Day. So those are your opps.

Mike Fisher and the Preds have announced that he's working out with the team and planning to come out of retirement and sign a contract with the team before the trade deadline. He was able to stay retired for all of like half a season? :lol
