Are we really getting excited about a Flyers team who is just as close to last place in the Metro than first place???

Everyone who is not a Caps fans: "Are we really getting excited about a Caps team who has never made it out of the second round since drafting Ovechkin??"

It’s painful. I can see people asking for trades if something doesn’t change. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins deserves so much better for one.

I don't think anyone ITT has said dick about the caps this year. Actually the only things I have really mentioned about the Caps so far ITT is AB65 sucks, posted a funny Kuzy gif, and how the regular season is so pedestrian and unexciting as a Caps fan anymore

But go ahead and enjoy that 3rd place in the Metro a little over half way through the season. As a Flyers fan I'm sure you need it

Hard to see them moving much of anyone honestly. they have the majority of their core locked up for 3-5 years.

0-60 in 2 seconds. Its impressive. I would think the regular season would hold more meaning to you as a Caps fan because it is where you can find success.

Like I mentioned before, hard to really get up for a pedestrian regular season of Caps meddling their way into the playoffs for the same old fate

Ain't it funny how you get shit for celebrating Caps success and then get shit for saying the Caps season is ho-hum. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Phickle Philly Phanz

I could care less about the Eagles, their organization, and their fanbase. They're all pretty terrible.

(Although this year's team seems pretty cool and really likeable.)

What a turn around for them.

Meanwhile the Kings are turning around in the opposite direction.

Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)

As if Chicago was not playing bad enough their opponents certainly do not need any help from the refs or linesmen. Leafs iced the puck, Seabrook was 5 steps ahead of the nearest leaf and just flipped it to the ref after getting it as all D men do yet the icing was not called despite being as clear as day and leafs got the puck in the Hawks zone and eventually scored as a direct result of the missed icing. If anyone in here has a chance to see the replay I challenge you to claim that was not icing.

Don't worry. They gave it back to you on that absolutely terrible goalie interference they allowed.

Anisimov was pushed and the puck clearly was in the net before he landed on Anderson. Such a BS game, seriously - to lose on a penalty shot in OT. Game shoudl have never even gotten to OT, should have been a 2-1 regulation Hawks win if the refs were not abysmal tonight.

Pushed is a bit of a stretch, no? Polak brushed air against the guy and Anisimov fell into the goalie. Anisimov's stick knocks Anderson in the head before falling on him, which in the current NHL climate should constitute as no goal.

If that goal was allowed then the play on Monday night with Tor vs the Avs should have counted. There is such inconsistency with goalie interference calls.

That rule is so subjective as to be annoying as heck. Sometimes I cannot tell in slow motion replay so I can imagine the Refs do not have it any easier - hence why the cal on the ice generally stands short of indisputable evidence. Offisdes is similar in being subjective, I have seen one of my FWD's standing on the blue line waiting for a team-mate to enter the zone only to have the first guy get pushed or checked into the zone before the puck enters, again sometimes they call it offsides and sometimes they take into consideration that the player was pushed off.

Lastly - not really relevant but the new crack down on slashing is getting a bit tired. Sometimes it is just stick on stick contact while someone is reaching around to try and strip the puck, to me a slash is intentionally slashing your stick down on either your opponent or his stick to get it smacked out of his hands. Frustrating, I thought they would enforce the new rule interpretation like crazy in the pre-season but tail off during the regular season but it still seems to be going full bore - everything is a slash these days, intentional or not.

Yea, that was goalie interference easily. Anisimov was hooking & fell into the goalie unprovoked from his teammate

I don't even mind saying that Toronto goal against the Avs 100% should have counted.

It is not hooking when you are in a blue paint scrum tough. Also, if you watch again you will see that it is #46 and #2 white who make contact with Anisimov, Hartman (#38 red) skates behind the net and Schmaltz (#8 red) goes to the left of the net and puts the puck in prior to Anisimov falling on the goalie.
